After a short trip back to grab the water, you come back and toss the water on the tentacle thing.
The tenctacles begin to rub the mass, producing an odd noise...

...which, for some reason, means "Silly child. Water only effects the greater and lessers. I, as a over, will not die from that." in their tongue, you think.
