Saying 4chan is such a horrible place is the usual thing you'll get from someone who never actualy browsed it. I've been to 4chan ever since the time WTsnacks was still a mod, and I've seen alot of stuff, but seriously, if you search a bit you'll find far worse stuff around the intertubes, such as furafinity. I sorta agree with you on fanfiction net though, never saw so much bad writing is a single place, though some dark fics are fun to read.

It isn't so much that 4chan is bad, it is that scientifically forums are self-propetuating catalysts and 4chan is simply the largest forum. It would be like saying Uranium or Plutonium is horrible.

As for Fanfiction.net... ok yes it is legitimately horrible and the only things I've so far heard of being worth reading on that site, that don't involve Yami Yugi having sex with Normal Yugi, are horrible fanfiction that somehow loops around and becomes good.

Yvette's Bridal Formal has for a while been my benchmark when I consider the 'badness' of a website.  (Not in the 4chan way!)

And check out the map on how to get to the eponimous establishment.  It's somewhere in there, and obviously created with the same care and attention to detail as the rest of the site.

(It may request some browsers to install multimedia plug-ins, etc, and if you have sound currently enabled there is, or used to be, quite a disparate collection of musical samples playing in the background.  This is by way of information for those who are only lumbered with its visual nature.)

It took a little time to find, but finally I found it again (Yvette or her webadmin change the pages slightly more regularly than I browse there).  The map page!

Hey, I write on fanfiction.net! Or, well, I used to.

Oh god. Those blender renders were truly horrifying.

I've not quite worked out if whoever integrated those renders meant to retain the 'window frame' and title-bar when they screen-grabbed.  (Or why they screen-grabbed in the first place.)

You obviously haven't been crystallizing hard enough.

It is hard to get the proper environment... That sort of disgust generation is usually only possible on 4Chan or Fanfiction.net

Disolve it in a liberal dose of Geocities sites, then evaporate the solvent? ;)

The best thing about Yvette's Bridal Formal:

Scroll down on the main page to the lower left. Why does it say "Beautiful Flying Cessna !! ~*" in bright green text on top of a picture of someone in a dress?

Here's a couple:
Senator George Hutchins, whom I suspect is A) a redneck (for multiple reasons) and B) just HAD to design the site all by himself.

And this. I'm not totally sure what it is. One of those idiots who's trying to preach sacred physics or whatever. Cultist. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

Seriously, what were people thinking when they created this?  :o

MSY Technology Pty. Ltd.

This travesty seems to be some sort of half-arsed attempt at an infosplash, and it’s failing hard. They made the difficult decision, first of all, to go with center-align on this gob of red and white text. While brave of them, it was stupid, and it only serves to make the whole thing look like some form of massive and immobile tag cloud from hell.

It also generally has the cheapest computer parts in australia. So meh, I couldn't really give a shit if their site is made from a word document, the prices are just to dam good to pass up.
Oh, and the new site makes the old one look bad...
Edit: old main page used to have the same style as the parts page still does
