Insane genius plan
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:39:24 am »

Okay, I bet most of you have seen this before but I haven't. Let me just say... the guy who created this... is a genius who transcended all levels of geniushood.

But quite inspirational. It's a nod to the fact that there are so many people in the world, all one needs to do to be successful is create a fad.

This should have been much more obvious. I wonder if it will inspire me, or anyone else here, to do something similar but unique and thus successful?

I wonder if they're paying him, like, a dime an ad for this though. It doesn't look like your ad would get good coverage.

The site is down right now, as a matter of fact. But I don't see what point you are making. Are you saying you disbelieve he was paid? He was paid over $1million USD, and if he didn't get the money from a bid or wasn't paid he didn't post the ad. A space wasn't sold until he was paid for it. Just look at his auction; he turned down fraudulent bids of over $100,000 to accept a legitimate bid of $38,000 for the last 1000 pixels.

Okay, what I was saying was that for each ad he must have been paid a pittance because there's so many your ad wouldn't be see easily.

But this was only from seeing the front page and not even looking closely, and nothing else. So yeah, it doesn't matter.

EDIT: And now I'm informed.

This kid is the greatest person I have ever seen ever. Holy shit.

He ws paid at least $1 per pixel the ad covers.

There are one-million pixels on the site.

That's the whole point; every pixel cost at least $1, and ovbiously some bids went up much further than that.

One bid. He only sold one chunk for a higher price. But now I'm just being a stickler.

One bid, ten bids, who cares. He sold 1 million pixels for at least $1 each.
