That would have to earn extra points. Not to mention that a Mythdwarves story thing would rock.

You would need to specify what myth you are testing.

I nicknamed my starting seven after the seven in Snow White. Needless to say, I was a bit worried when 'Dopey' Roughnessmatched was named the expedition leader...

Oh yes, and my mayor is a Legendary Jackass. Other than mandating the construction of hopelessly obscure metal items, he is "rarely happy or enthusiastic," "does not go out of his way to help others," and likes Corrupt Intentions clowns.

The mere fact that this creep was elected mayor scares the bejezus out of me. I think I'll feel safer once I finally pull the buggered lever.

Is magma flow faster than dwarves running away?
[lever pull]
Whelp, guess it is.

"Will the world end in Fire, or will it end in Ice?"

From what I've tasted of desire, I hold with those who favor fire.

Meh, I'll sign up as a judge if a spot is available.

But if I had to embark twice
I think I know enough of Imps
To say that for destruction melting ice
Is also great
And would suffice

Just saying that I won't be turning in an entry. My doomsday device isn't quite finished, and it would take me at least a few more days.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the entries, though.

I did one for giggles.
http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1862
Finished the device by year three and obtained a million * worth of goods, but didn't play it out to the end of year 7.

Note: While the bauxite Red Lever is on the surface near the wagon, I did lock the door to it via a cinabar lever down at the bottom (hit F2).  Which idealy would have locked the lever pulling dwarf in with it,* but I didn't get there.

Wait.  Fixing that, should only take a minute.

Also re-building a couple walls to cause more magma buildup before final collapse.  Draws out the death longer, but would cause a huge amount of magma mist during the collapse and would look cool from the lever-puller's location.  If you want to have a quick death, just remove them (bottom most level, center, red).

*He'd survive. >:3  Locked him in with food and booze too, to at least survive until the collapse, perhaps a bit longer.

Here`s my fort:http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1864

I`ll write some comments soon.

Make those suckers pay. Big time.

The Trap

Well, i decided to dig an huge hole right into the ground. I then decided to "built" (You will see why i put the " there if you look at it...  :)) some towers in it; There my dwarves should live.

Upon pulling the lever, those towers should crash down one after the other.. Into Magma. Then water should flow in, encasing the remnants in obsidian. At the end, all that remains should have been an artificial lake.

Well, here`s the first problem: Magma flows slooooooooow. Experiments to pump the magma faster resulted in roasted dwarves. So my magma sea is pretty empty.. So like 30 Dwarves will survive the crash.

However those dwarves will have major injuries and someone will turn Berserk. So in the end, they will die anyway.

To make the apocalypse even funnier i decided to release some goblins upon pulling the lever. I wanted to release hundreds, yet i had only one one squad siege and no megabeast- So there are only a few goblins.  :(

However, my fortress should, under normal circumstances, be quite protected. When i raise the bridge no one can enter and my dwarves are able to survive forever. They have everything they need: Water, soil, trees...

And my dwarves are worshipping the most badass deity ever: Mezum Thrownstrong
She takes the form of a rotting female dwarf and is associated with birth, marriage, pregnancy, creation, death, rebirth, war and fortresses.  ;D

Well, what else to say? I hated that fortress. I dearly hated it. Why? Some examples:

1. The return of the useless possessed haulers- Somehow the game missed my many "dabbling" masons and decided to pick some skilless hauler most of the time.

2. Magma flows too slow and should be pressurized. *grml*
At least 3 dwarves died in the vain attempt to pump magma..

3. Didn`t focus that much on creating wealth. The main reason: My legendary craftsdwarf died before i could order him to churn out crafts. Reason? Read 4.

4. So i decided to set up a jail- The cells are[should be] suspended over the magma and every criminal is free to leave anytime.. By jumping down.

Anyway, i usually don`t bother with justice and therefore i`m not that experienced with it. I decided to make one of my miners sheriff.

He was quite eager to prove himself, sneaked up to my sleeping craftsdwarf, yelled "FACE PUNISHMENT, SCUM! YOU FAILED TO CREATE EARRINGS AND THEREFORE I CONDEMN YOU TO DEATH!" and butchered him with his pickaxe. I decided that he wasn`t the right one for the job after he killed two other guys.

5. One Ambush, one little siege, nothing else of interest.

6. No Ore, no gems. At least there was Microline <3.
