TBS - United Alliance of Earth
« on: January 16, 2010, 08:52:46 pm »

Alright. TBS, set in space. 22nd century, mankind has begun exploring the nearby systems with their coveted light drive, wich propels spacecraft at THE speed of light, and not a minute, inconceivable decimal above it. As such 1LY=1 year of travel. They still use Ion engines for regular system travel, as light drives do not work inside of stars gravity wells. So, in any event, i will be accepting 3 people in. Keep the technological era in mind, and as well, youll be given a view of your various controlled systems/planets.
3 empires you can take control of:

Republic of Proxima Centauri
Democracy of Alpha Centauri
Confederation of Tau Ceti

Will be drawing the various system graphics and so on with Asciidraw.

EDIT:By the way, you'll all be reporting to the United Alliance of Earth. If you revolt, attack others without due reason and reporting it to the UAE, then they'll start attacking you. They aren't the uber-god people, but expect to not be able to muster that many forces till like turn 25 or sommad abouts there.

EDIT EDIT:Okay, all positions are now filled.

I would like to control the Democracy of Alpha Centauri.

And I assume this takes place in the same universe as Winstons Equation?

I would like a spot, claiming the Confederation of Tau Ceti.

I don't know how truthful they were, but somebody I once met in an MMORPG who claimed to be a physics major tried to tell me that anybody going AT the speed of light would probably be everywhere at once. Or something. I didn't really understand what they were trying to say, not being a math major myself.

Yay. Alright, so....When posting your first turn, pick your color that you want to represent you. I will color the planets/starships/etc that you own in that color background.

Spoiler: Starmap (click to show/hide)

Post your turn, as well. Heh.

All the planets economy and stuff are the same for right now. One turn=1 year, and 1 tile on the asciidraw starmap is 1LY.
2237 AD currently.

Red for the Republic of Proxima Centauri. Please elaborate on your rules, x2yzh9.. what limits there are to our economy?
Also, what is your post schedule, 1 turn/24 hours?

What limits? None really, but ships will always take the same time to build, as will buildings and stuff. No preset buildings or anything, use your imagination i guess. Heh.

I'm gonna go copy GDI for a bit.

Research Gauss Rifles, "Paladin" Anti Vehicle Walkers, "Guardsman" Anti Infantry Walkers, and build 1 Heavy Class "Archangel" Space Ship.

Republic of Proxima Centauri

Proxima Centauri is a gateway system; while technically the closest system to Sol at just over four years, most settlers' choice destination is her sister system Alpha Centauri. Ten weeks away at C, Alpha Centauri has grown quickly.. while the Proxima system has struggled in much harsher conditions.

RPC has more facilities retained in orbit than Alpha Centauri- either around their icy planet Cerberus or amid the nearby asteroid belt. Blessed with a dwarf star, Proxima inhabitants have become accustomed to not only the dangers of dark and cold, but also frequent x-ray flares.

The Republic's survival and growth has centered around a developing philosophy of agility; this shows in their preference of light ships excelling in mobility and sensor systems.

Orbital build queue:      -Three interstellar probes w/light drives
                                -Asteroid mining drone swarm

Planetside build queue: -Research laboratories
                                -Long range scanner array

Research queue:          -Design an interstellar colony and factory ship, capable of self-sufficiency at its' destination: either landing on a planet or staying space-bound (Should this take too long, sacrifice the ability to land)
-Develop a method to harness x-ray-heavy light to improve currently limited solar power generation
