@ Gorjo etc.: While this name is very dwarvenly, it should still be FORBIDDEN. I had to type it THREE TIMES. Or rather, copy&paste it three times.

1) allow custom naming of professions that don't end in "man". THIS. FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER GOD YOU WORSHIP, IF ANY, THIS.
2) show lever connections / name levers / blink connected.
3) door access lists.

thought this name up ..ohhhh.. 'bout 27 yrs ago when i made my first D&D dwarf

used to just be Gorjo the Grim

but my Scots heritage got the better of me

  • multi-threaded program code
  • excavate - mine without stone production

If I had to chose one, it would defiantly be Improved Siege AI. I find the game pretty much over when I've established an impervious defense.

Sorry I need to change my votes, based on the idea that enabling Multithreading support for DF may take quite some time. The main reason why I would like it would be to make better use of my CPU for FPS reasons and after reading a forum reply from Toady about multithreading it seems his time would be better spent doing general optimizations.

  • improved siege AI (tunnels, siege ladders, etc.)
  • framerate improvements
  • excavate - mine without stone production


For those of us with Multithreaded CPU's we most likly have higher end PC's capable of playing DF at a somewhat decent frame rate for the entire game (except during those heavy sieges  :D). A few optimizations here and there would hopefully shove the FPS from sluggish to decent for most of us wanting multi threading. Although many of us could see the seemingly beneficial improvements by moving the temperature and weather code to one core and the rest on another. Given that weather and temperature have the greatest effects on FPS.
