I don't know whether this has been suggested already or not (because I suck at the search button), but while you're selecting items in the preparation screen, I think it'd be nice if the / and * keys decreased and increased the amount of an item (or animal for that matter) by 5 or 10, saving you from pressing + on Plump Helmets 40 times or more, or other items which you need in large quantities. It's a feature Dwarf Fortress could do without, but I think it'd be nice.

I'd also like this. I use custom embark settings so I can take more stuff along, and hitting the + key 400 times to get the desired amount of booze is boring.
