The Al-Malik embassy on Byzantium has been closed for all visitors today. Rumours are flying wild and one of them claims, that the ambassador has been arrested by the Al-Malik troops, that have arrived during the night. There has been no communication from the Al-Malik, other than a brief statement:

As of today, the Al-Malik space is closed for all travel. The lock down is effective immediately for planets Istakhr and Cadiz.

Intergalactic News approached the former Istakhr ambassador (withdrawn from Istakhr after negotiations broke down, decades ago).  "Sir, what do you believe the al-Malik are up to on Istakhr and Cadiz, why the lock down on space travel?"

"Well, it's entirely possible, even probable, that the al-Malik are developing some form of superweapon.  I've had reports from the highest ranks of the church that these once civilized beasts have broken the holy laws set upon us and are researching forbidden technology", he replied.

"With your expertise and experience on the matter, do you think anything will come of it?"

"Of course not.  The al-Malik have festered for many years, but Gabrielle is far too timid.  Now if I...", the broadcast ended abruptly.

It looks like the Nova site is down.  I don't know if it's temporary or not.  I've contacted the guy that hosted it, hopefully I'll get a reply.
