Grenadier!

Hey, far be it from me to call your choices "bad" if you have success with them! Just voicing my opinion.

Can we also have a thread for perk choices as well?

Go ahead man, that's part of the "Loadout". Sorry if it's a little unclear, I'll fix the title.

Went straight over you there.

Anyway, I like the RPD with a RDS + grip, it basically becomes a 100 clip rifle. So much fun!

On that note I think the Static perk is a handicap rather than a bonus. I find that when someone has that then finding them just turns into a game of "Hot or Cold". The way it fades in and out, it's like a beacon leading you to the poor sap using it.

If you want to sneak up on someone, there's no worse way to do it (in normal mode) than to use Static. Or whatever it's called, if that is not the name.

My friend loves the RPD too, but he uses an ACOG scope that makes it basically spray the area around the target like a Gatling gun. I got frustrated with the low mobility, knockdown and accuracy when I went on a 3/10 spree trying to use it on Rundown. Maybe with the Grip it would be better, I'll take your advice and have the patience to unlock it. Given the way that the HBAR is an assault rifle on steroids, it sounds feasible.

Edit: fixed forum code for the quote

I gave up on sniping, it seems rather ineffective now. The FAMAS/M16 serve just as well, and you can aim on target a lot faster. Thermal limits your field of view so much I get nervous.

I usually stick with the M16, or the ACR

I also have a class with a stinger, cold blooded, scavenger pro and a nub tub m4. Obviously, for killing air support and noobing it up.

Scavenger is a freaking treat if you are using a grenade launcher and others on the level are too. It's like infinite grenades; you can go on whole killing sprees with just the noob tube. Props.

The M16 is considered cheating by those who care to make such distinctions. That came up in the other thread (when I mentioned how overpowered it was when I had used it; it was too easy so I put it away). Otherwise an ACOG scope on M16 with Stopping Power is an easy 10 kill spree.

If anyone posts in this thread that they use that shotgun that you unlock last with Akimbo, I will find you and kill you. Seriously. Anyone using them makes me want to punch them through the screen.

As for my loadout, I use the SCAR-H with a silencer, the first pistol with silencer, Claymores, stun grenade, Scavenger Pro, Stopping Power Pro, and Ninja Pro. Best kind of class for Free For All. Just sit tight, once your claymores go off, go find the scav. package and plant them again. The silencer means they wont be able to see me on the radar unless they get a UAV, and by then I usually have a 30-4 ratio. Epic times.

Killstreaks are UAV, Harriers and Pave Low, or Predator instead of UAV, depending on how I'm feeling at the time.

Do they have any advantages or any differences from each other? (Aside from the obvious bolt-action slow fire of the Intervention). I get from 3 to 11 kills with it and the machine pistol secondary with ease; it's almost too easy. Stopping Power and moving around beat trying to hide with Cold Blooded unless you play Hardcore. I don't bother trying to hide my sniper; if people come looking for you it's just another easy kill when you bushwack em with the machine pistol or claymore.
Barret:
+no recoil
-makes you run slow
Intervention
+one hit kills on limb shots, can kill painkiller users with a chest shot.
-bolt action
WA2000
+makes you run fast
-tons of sway
Mk14
+can be fired at 1200rpm with an autoclicker
-inaccurate

Back on topic, i use a p90 rapidfire fmj or rapidfire magazine depending on map with an at4 on small maps
barret heartbeat fmj and striker fmj magazine on becourt
scar h red dot noobtube with the same striker

Great info, thanks! And your loadout choices look pro to me.

I'm strongly considering using the Intervention to complete Perfectionist without the need to kill 10 people without missing (alternately I could remove Stopping Power and put more bullets into people, but considering how often you only get one shot or absolutely need the shot to kill before they shoot you back, it seems like a terrible idea).

As for your comment on damage difference with the Intervention, what about what I've read elsewhere about damage being the same? For example:

Quote
All sniper rifles do 70 base damage, regardless of range.
Equipping a silencer reduces the base damage to 50, regardless of range.
Stopping Power increases damage by 140% (1.4x).

Admittedly the guy isn't very bright, stating that a multiplier of 1.4 gives you 140% more damage, but it isn't the only place I have read this.

Actually, the way I was tought was that a multiplier is the base (in this case 70, or 50) with an extra .4 of the base value added on. The way he worded it though, yes, it would be 50 + (50*1.4), which is wrong.

I think.

The intervention has better locational multipliers(like 1.1 for limbs instead of 1.0). It's still second to the "lol no compensation necessary" barret as long as you can put up with having to switch to your secondary if you want to get anywhere faster the the riot shield crew.

Perfectionist is easy, just spawn kill on highrise and hope you are better at it/are less laggy then the guy on the opposite side doing exactly the same. Dictator on the other hand...

Sneaky is nice. You're the one that gives most other people headaches when the game keeps spawning them in front of you, right? :)

HBAR with a silencer is nice; that's led me to a spree or two.
