What the status on the fortress nao anyway? I'm pretty curious as to any half-finished megaprojects and/or goals currently underway.

Log of the Engineer

Well, I've arrived in the new fortress, Scorchinghatchet.  It's a barren, Armokforsaken land.  The inhabitants seem to have an obsession with all things blue, including microcline.  Ugh.

The fortress seems to have been made with whatever was on hand, including wood in some places.

It needs some style.

===============

Sorry for not dating these.  This place doesn't have a clock like the last one did.

I'm bringing some much-needed mechanization to this place.  It seems to have an overflow of small silk clothing and quite a lack of usable metals like iron.  Let's just say that next time the goblins come around, we won't be needing to do much cleanup.

I started ordering the constructions built for the trap.  If one good thing can be said about this settlement, it's that they have a lot of masons.  Can never have too many masons.

===============

Some fisherdwarves were attacked by a strange plant-like...thing.  One of the crossbowdwarves killed it with one bolt.  A plant.  A pile of mold.  This guy's awesome.

===============

Huh.  Apparently I'm married.

===============

Sad day.

Afterward, some peasant came up to me and said he'd been elected mayor, demanding several random articles of furniture for his room.  Mayor?  I thought I was in charge here?  I gave him his furniture and told him where he could shove it.

I also built myself a dining room.  If I have to eat one more *plump helmet roast* on a blue table, I'm going to lose it.

===============

Nokzam Nom, The Battle of God

Need I say more?

===============

Test firing the tra passed even my expectations.

It filled fully in less than 200 tics.  Prepare to be incinerated, goblin scum!

I need to rebuild the pumps with iron for safety.  We'll have to melt down some more of that goblin iron quickly.

1st Granite

So much silk and animals everywhere. Time to butcher and sew like thunder. I also recruited a few more recruits from our animal "caretakers." More mining and engraving will be underway as well.

9th Granite

Elves have arrived. I hope they have plenty of wood because we are in serious need of more bins.

7th Felsite

The miners have found 3 hematite veins, a galena vein as well as 2 copper veins. I will have to set more smelters up and perhaps make bins and barrels from this.

11th Felsite

Migrants! A philosopher with 23 others. I think I just found some new furnace operators.

17th Hematite

Human caravan arrived. I also set up mass smelting of ores as well as outfitting our military with iron armor. Making the entire fort smoothed and engraved is another task that needs doing.

27th Malachite

More Migrants! 8 more bastards to come. Now is a good time to recruit some fodder.

9th Limestone

Hunter taken by mood.

14th Limestone

Hunter needs silk cloth, I am in process of gathering webs. Dorf caravan also has arrived.

3rd Sandstone
Stupid hunter made an earring. Also, About half of the z level 0 is smoothed, hopefully I can finish before an ambush or siege comes in.

24th Sandstone
Gah! More Migrants. 8 more haulers.

17th Opal
Most of the through traffic areas have been smoothed and engraved and all uncovered veins have been made into bars. I also gave everyone their own bedroom. Now all that is left is to incite a tantrum spiral during my last half of my final season. MUUHAHAHAHAHA!!!

18th Opal
With a quick modification the magma death chamber can simply be made into a magma pump. Hopefully with all the new engravings I can simply cause my engravers to go nuts.

1st Granite
The population peaked at 177 but is currently at 136. Most of the magma has dried, but 3/4 of the fort is unhappy. I wish the next person luck in this endeavor.

Captains log stardate 1st granite, 218

I have started calling my self tbino.
About 3/4 of the fortress is depressed, apparently there friends died in the magma "leak".
Sometimes I wonder why i'm not depressed, then I remember that my job is to beat the crap out of people.
Also Operation firestorm is go.

Captains log stardate 11th granite, 218

'Evondral' the attention whore went berezerk, which if you ask me is just another ploy for attention.
Operation firestorm is going slower than expected considering the lack of engineers.

Captains log stardate 16th granite, 218

And today we are under siege.

Captains log stardate 21st granite, 218

we've struck admantine praise the miner's. also a peculiar chamber filled with water and vermin.
my tomb is gonna rock!

Captains log stardate 23rd granite, 218

demon, horror from the deep!

Captains log stardate 24th granite, 218

one of our craftsdwarfs(an injured one at that) has been taken by a fell mood, and has murdered domas, a teamster. this has not been a good month.

Captains log stardate 7th slate, 218

me and a few other brave dwarves trapped our self in the mines in order to kill the super-demon. note worthy casualties include TKGP and BMacZero
finally I can get back to operation firestorm.
at the moment the population of the fort is 75.
