Day 37, We arrived at chimney rock. Valar, urged to me that we should go climb it to see what we could find. But I told him that is foolish and dangerous, but he persisted to pester me about it. Hopefully he has the idea that we aren't going to climb that monstrousity. I don't want to feel responsible for another death.
Also starting to notice the temperature drop. If it gets too much colder we may risk getting sick.
Day 42, We reached Fort Laramie found some wild fruit to boost our food supplies while arriving. Made sure to head straight through we didn't need any supplies and were time was is always in short supply.
Day43, A day out from Fort Laramie and we collide with a rock in the road. Goron was controlling the oxen, was too busy day dreaming away and didn't even see the rock. We had to replace the wheel with a spare. It was our only spare so hopefully we don't come upon any troubles before our next fort town. We will need to start hunting some more in order to build up a stock to sell to traders.
Day 47, We are traveling through some rough area, there is no grass or water for the oxen. We have to be careful with what water we have in order to make it last. Also the track is very uneven, the badly repaired axle finally snapped. Had to fully replace it with a new axle. At least it is warming up and the hunting is good.
Day 51, Valar volunteered to go hunting again today, he still hasn't returned after leaving some 4 hours ago.
Day 53, Valar still isn't back. He is probably gone for good. I'll give him a couple more days to find his way back but if he ain't here by then I'm leaving. There is no water out there, yes he has his gun, but will that be enough?
Day 57, Valar arrived back today in a very deranged state of mind. He stumbled up to the caravan early this morning covered in animal blood babbling about some Armok, who saved him from the madness of the sun demons. It is impossible to approach him, he won't talk sense and doesn't listen to a thing we say. We offered Valar a clean pair of clothes but he refused them, determined to stay in the bloody pieces of cloth.
Day 58, The caravan arrived at Independence rock.
We traded away some of our food supplies for more cash, hmm maybe that was a bad idea, now we only have 350 pounds of food left. We will definitely need to get hunting at the next opportunity.
I talked to a missionary from a caravan staying at Independence rock, he tells me Valar's soul has been tainted by evil. I later tried to talk to Valar and managed to decipher from his babbling that he survived by drinking the blood of buffalo he shot and sleeping in their carcasses. I couldn't figure out much else. The missionary suggested we take him back the way we came to the larger cities in search of an exorcist. No way was I going back when we were already so far. Valar was going to have to suffer despite what the missionary thought.
