Start the Terrain campaign, you'll need to escort some girl to a space station in Heretic's End, then chat to her and she'll send you through to Terran space, that'll give you, Mars Clearance i think.

Ahhh, but where do I start the Terran mission? I started as an Argon trader so I've got no clue.

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.

You should get contacted to escort a terran dignitary the first time you enter Omicron Lyrae.

If you plan on doing the Terran mission, make sure you have a Jumpdrive, Cargobay Life Support System, SETA(!!!!), Freight Scanner and around 100 cargo space.

I have been contacted, huzzah!

*Edit* Holy crap I hate escort missions in X3. They take forever! Why the hell doesn't the Terran diplomat have a jump drive?!

Well it actually looks like the system requirements are somewhat higher than in Reunion.
After turning much of the graphics down, the game looks horrible, but still doesn't run fluently.

I guess I'll stick with Reunion until I get my new PC.

I can't seem to figure out why the ATF and Terran are duking it out in Jupiter right now...

The minimum specs for reunion were way to low for what the game would run on when first released.

I picked up the gold edition of x3:r+tc the other day after a bit of nostalgia inspired by this thread and finding out they my original x3:r disks were scratched. I seem to be doing fine in TC on medium settings after turning anti-aliasing down and I am on integrated graphics (Radeon HD 3300). How old is your computer?

I've heard of that happening before. I guess it's a rare occurrence. But since ATF and USC are technically two seperate factions...
Since collisions act as "hostile fire" (at least for the player), that could theoretically be a catalyst for a sector war. But if that's not possible, then you've got me.

I guess the other theory is that the ATF are basically paranoid space-nazis who turn on their own people if they seem suspicious.

The ATF do have bitchin ships. They'd be even more bitchin if they could mount better weapons.

Also, i just saw a Flying Saucer, it was called "Unknown Object" and gave me a bunch of question marsk when i tried to 'info' it.

Wat.

Not a random bug. In the case of the cargo, they're missiles that are EXTREMELY valuable. Downside is that they don't fit into most fighters cargo bays.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

I've also found a Xenon "Unknown Object" that appears to be some sort of fighter with 600MJ of shields :C

That one left a mark. Thankyou advanced jump drive.
