Install with the installer.

There's a file in the AuroraInstall475(Which is misleading, it does not install 475) called AuroraUpdate475.  Unzip it into the install directory.

Copy the 477 exe into the install directory.

???

Profit!

Looks like that worked.

Wonky install system...sheesh.

Now to see about figuring this game out.

converted Convetional Industry to industry cap (do not forget to do this, I didn't know I could do this so I lost many years building stuff very slowly).

I just learned this after 27 in-game years and about 9 research labs built. D:

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

You can make one at home, just open excel and record yourself  ;)
Seriously though, there's no videos because there is nothing at all dynamic to film, it's that kind of game.

Okay, does anybody have a link for a REAL TUTORIAL, that actually explains how the game is supposed to work, AND is typed at least well enough to be legible?  Because I'm using the hideous GameFAQs abortion from the wiki page and I'm stuck on assigning a governor to Earth, because I can't figure out what button to press to actually assign him there.

What the fuck is wrong with this interface, and why isn't there a click-by-click tutorial included?  Or for that matter a real website instead of a poorly typed wikia and a forum I'm not going to navigate?

If you're really stuck, i recommend making a account on their forums and asking them. For the first 5 posts they have to approve it to avoid MEGA VIAGRA spam.

It's located in the officer corps menu (6th button from the left) there should be a drop down box titled naval officers, where you can select civilian administrators. That's the one you're looking for.

Because it's a very obscure game.  If you can get past the fact that it's basically a huge spreadsheet, it's pretty cool.

And to assign an officer, click on your favorite at the left, then click the assignment in the menu to the right of that (selections are not exactly visible, but they have been) then to finish the assignment, click on the ASSIGN button in the lower right corner of rhe window. This should fill the position with your dude, unless there are problems such as the function being filled already.

But that... doesn't work.  The Governor of Earth is unassigned, the guy I'm clicked on meets the required rank.  But I click the "Assign" button, and it just deselects the guy without doing anything.  Earth's Governor remains unassigned.

Click the guy's name far left column, then click the Earth middle column, then click "assign" bottom right, if that doesn't work then it's buggy on your end :/

If Kael's advice doesn't help, I'll throw together a few screen shots in the morning for you, as I have to do this on pretty much a monthly basis right now ... damn civvies building mining colonies >.<
