An Iowa-class was also heavier than the Vanguard, mostly due to the length and immense engine power needed to propel the ships at 33+ knots. And of course the Yamato-class outmassed everything except for modern supertankers and supercarriers and the like.

I do find it a little weird that you've got a frigate at the same size as a destroyer---usually, they'd be smaller, depending on the role you want them to fill.

i.e., if your frigates are antimissile/antifighter vessels, they'd generally want to be smaller, cheaper, and faster than, say, your destroyers, which in this case are probably (?) meant for just destroying things, though admittedly I'm not clear on what your weapons are due to the format you've used. It doesn't have nice easy names like "missile" or "final fire defense" and "railgun antimissile" :P

But like I said a little earlier, name your ships what you want to, it doesn't matter in space because there's no preexisting meta before you find out what you and the AI are using :P

My destroyers anti-missile. The frigates are more anti-fighter/FAC/small ships.

I do love my format. :P Makes it easier to see at a glance what the capabilities and requirements are.

I swear to fucking god, I'm going to lock these people up in an orbital habitat if they don't get to work.

We have a corundium crunch, people! Mine construction is at 2% or less and this is the only planet in the solar system with millions of corundium in the ground at 0.3 accessibility.

Why are they all working in service industries?

Hell if I know. Tourism? It's a barren rock. Not much to see.

Inhospitable colony maybe?
Colony cost ~6, but they have enough infrastructure.

Why are they all working in service industries?
Higher populations trend towards a 70% service and 5% agriculture with the rest going to industry.

Inhospitable colony maybe?
Definitely.  For over 100 mil you should be needing 5% on agriculture unless the planets colony cost is high.

All of da_nang's colonists are busy keeping their habitat together and everyone fed.

The high colony costs still causes more % of people to work in services, they're maintaining infrastructure and life support etc

Cost 6 is pretty killer to try and use in C# Aurora.  Not without a plan for terraforming it pretty hard to get it closer to 3 or so.

Population living in orbital habs treat the body as a colony cost 0.  If you bring in orbital habs those would work best to get the place up and running more efficiently.

Earth's colony cost should be 0.

Anything over zero is a multiplier on how much infrastructure you need.

Ok not sure what's going on but when I select Mars or Luna and press "create colony", nothing happens. They don't show up in my economics tab nor do I have the option to drop stuff off at them. I watched other people play the new version and it works just fine for them. Help.

That was a bug in (I think) the 1.7 series. 1.8 should have fixed it. Make sure you delete the exe and database (pluss backups) before patching - some people have reported odd bugs when they just overwrite.

Well it turns out my tankers are bugged in 1.6.3. Flagged as tankers, minimum fuel is set. Given zero fuel at construction and refuses to keep any as reserves when told to refuel and transfer fuel back to colony.

This save is dead.

Try unlocking the design and changing the amount.  Hit that tanker enough with Spacemaster, and it should work!
