Huh. Guess I was wrong.

I've got an incredibly irritating bug where whenever I select a dropdown option, the window below mine pops over the top of the one I'm on. Anyone else had this?

I want to start a new campaign, but also want to wait for 7.2 and all the good stuff in it. I hope it comes out sooner rather than later.

I currently have three questions.

!) Where can I watch The Expanse online legally, without having syfy as a dish channel?

2) How exactly does ramming work and does it make sense to have Divine-Wind fighters?

3) Can tractor-beams be used to latch onto enemy ships to either slow them down or drag them off, or to make it easier to land marines?

I know that it is technically more than three but oh well.

I have 35 systems where I have completed the geosurvey (including some barren systems), and not a single ruin yet. 40 systems opened, and only 2 had swarm and one had precursors. Almost 100 years of play and I have but a single battlefleet and some FACs. Those ships haven't been upgraded for 40 or 50 years, I have more than a billion litres of fuel on Earth and one or two other places. I just want some enemies, dammit! Or ruins, though they'd probably only have stuff I know about already.

Well if you can use tractor beams on enemy ships what stopping someone from loading it up with a H.E. Reactor and some missiles and self-destructing?

There is no area of effect damage. Iirc the laser warheads were supposed to do something like it, but I never used them.

Not quite. The laser warheads are essentially bomb-pumped lasers strapped to missile drives (which is why they use X-Ray laser tech); instead of using the warhead to deal damage directly, it's used to generate several X-Ray lasers. They're a standoff weapon for circumventing certain kinds of PD, as they hit their targets from outside the range of final defensive fire. Also they allow you to get the excellent penetration profile of a laser on a missile.

perhaps in a future update maybe. I guess I will make some experimental fighters and hope I come across an enemy scout or something and test some theories for some unconventional tactics.

Can Microwaves completely disable a ship in both movement and weapon systems? If I understand each hit has a chance to disable one random system yes?

IIRC they only affect: shield health, electronics (anything you can apply Electronics Hardening tech to).

Which means you can disable all their sensors with them and make them essentially blind and helpless. Not sure if they can ram targets only detected by thermal/em passives.

I guess my tractor beam ideas wont work unless enemy taskforces appear in the list of targets of a tractor beam ship.

What exactly happens if a system has a nebula in it and how common are nebulas (nebuli?)?

IIRC nebulas slow down insufficiently armoured ships and missiles don't work in nebulas. There might be something else about them I'm missing since I've never encountered one in game.

Is it possible to hide ships in a nebula?
