It will be much easier in 7.2 when fleets can maintain themselves.

Is there an expected release date for 7.2? What other features will be in it?

They can, just when not at a body with a colony.

??

In 7.2 he's adding the ability for fleets and stations to maintain themselves away from a colony. That's what I meant

Spawn a player controlled NPR , spawn them some ships, blow them up.

How do I do that :P

Also, what happens when a colony's unrest levels get too high?

Basically as unrest rises, productivity shrinks I believe. So they won't be generating trade goods, won't run factories, won't mine, etc

If you don't want to actually fix their problems you can just put some jackboots on the ground and let them take care of it. It does generate a bunch of messages in the log though which can be a bit tiresome.

What the hell even is this? This is absurdly complicated, and I've nearly mastered Dwarf Fortress. I can't understand a single thing about this, and the only wiki I've found so far is down, I guess nobody paid for the servers. This is interesting, and I'd like to play this, but... what? Even the download I don't think I did correctly. I just... I need an adult.

The game is actually quite easy to understand so long as you can read English, and the forums are down because 2 rather popular LPers are doing series on the game at the same time.

Its easy to understand once you have managed to get past the first cliff. Getting past that cliff can, thankfully, be eased by those two LPers.

So I've just found the game at an... inopportune time. Alright.
