7.0 is up, the forum is slow as balls right now so I'm not pasting the changelog.
There's a slight chance of severe bugginess if you manage to delete Steve's campaign or use the "clean" version.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Automatic sensor detection is broken, but the other option, NPRs completely ignoring each other untill a player enters the system, seems to work fine.

Just me, or is there a lot more minerals in Sol now? Typically I'd only find 2 or 3 moons/planets worth mining, but my first 7.0 game and I've got several.

It might be like that to make up for multiple space nations start.  Turtle harder or start a space race.

Blurgh, time is such precious a commodity...  Though I can at least wait for DF to stabilize first, plus the utility stuffs...

Agreed.  Mercury and Venus each have like 9 times the minerals of Earth.  Mars and Luna, unfortunately are barren.
...Never have I been more tempted to just make terraformers, infastructure, cargo ships, and colony ships than I am now.  Oh, and some construction for replication.

It was either the update before 7.0, or one not long before, that boosted mineral generation in Sol, or rather cut how much it was previously being reduced by the generation routine in order to incentivise expansion outside of Sol.

It's possible that it's just random chance, but I've seen somewhat higher levels generated as well in the three test games I've set up since the update, so he may have made another change that I didn't spot in the patch notes..

I'm pretty sure it was like that before, at least when you do a system mineral regen.  I've always used the system mineral regen pre 7.0.
Planets, depending on size and when they have minerals, tend to carry between 1-20 million per resource they got.  Even Earth when mineral regened has between 1-10 million per resource.
Normally Earth only starts with a pidly amount, under 1 million of each...

Unless you are saying resources are even higher then that...  (I'll take a look when I get home.)

Yes, homeworlds start with less, it is supposed to be like that.
