That usually means an NPR is fighting or something else is causing an interrupt

Nothing I can see, so does it happen if two NPRs are fighting each other?
If so, then I think my current game is hosed. :P I can't really sit here clicking five seconds forwards all afternoon.

You could switch to SM mode and delete the system the NPR is in.  ;D

You need to set autoturns untill the battle is resolved, Just check the box, and press the 5 day button, the game should progress through as many 5 second turns are needed to resolve the battle, eventually it goes to the 5 day turns, it should stop once some event happens that breaks Autoturns, finished production or research usually will do the trick.

So this is driving me crazy- how do I made multiple NPRs start on the same homeworld? Adding an extra one in SM mode does nothing.

According to my roommates I was talking in my sleep last night. They didn't recognize the subject, but did clearly hear me saying things like "use the dropdown menu" and "check the [indistinct] tab of the F3 window". I was giving Aurora advice in my sleep. I suppose that's a lot less embarrassing than many of the alternatives, though. -_-'

Ahah, so you are in the correct state of mind now. Excellent... all we need to do now is to get rid of your body and insert you into a computer and at last everyone's questions for Aurora will forever be solved.

Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

I would be surprisingly okay with that, to be honest. Immunity to biological mortality in exchange for spending a few minutes per day on interesting psuedo-tech support is pretty good as such things go, no firstborn sacrifices or hidden catches.

You would eventually suffer lag and database corruption though - which might make you not much fun at parties.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

Just as a bit of advice; if you have problems with 5 second turns.

At game start, set the number of NPRs to 0; spawn chance up to you at 0%, precursors, swarm and invaders off. This is the only way to be perfectly safe from 5 second turns.  The downside is you will have to spawn NPRs on your own.

The advantages are that there are no NPRs slowing down turns until you are ready. Another is that there will be no NPRs exploring and spawning more NPRs, assuming you left spawn rate at 0%. You won't be forced into 5 second turns and NPRs won't eat up resources and make each turn longer; leaving your civilian fleet to cause most of the slowdown.

Another combo might be 1 NPR at start and 0% spawn rate with no swarm invaders or precursors.

I'm doing a game with 0 NPRs at start and 90% spawn rate to see how it goes. I have a feeling I'll run into 5 second turns once an NPR I discover starts exploring and finds it's own inhabited systems. No precursors swarm or invaders.

That said, if you turn off NPRs and Invaders you'll still basically never see 5-second interrupts while still retaining an enemy. My favorite balance is 1 starting NPR (at ~250-500% difficulty), 0% spawn, all specials off OR Swarm + Precursors on, Invaders off, no starting NPR, but changing spawn rate from 0% to 90% when exploring new systems and in need of an enemy, obviously with difficulty set to 1000% or so to account for their lack of buildup time. But basically never turn Invaders on, they will inevitably kill your campaign.

I would be surprisingly okay with that, to be honest. Immunity to biological mortality in exchange for spending a few minutes per day on interesting psuedo-tech support is pretty good as such things go, no firstborn sacrifices or hidden catches.

Which is different from old age... how?  :P

So, I've been messing around with this game a lot, but never found out if I can delete old missile designs. Is it possible? Having 50+ test designs cluttering everything is pretty annoying.

You can mark them as obsolete from the tech systems window, then they'll be hidden on most screens.

Downloaded Aurora two weeks ago and am loving it so far. However, I started the game up today and a popup appeared saying "Greetings Professor Falken. Shall we play a game?"

An unsettling easter egg if there ever was one. :o

Thank you. Now I can finally find out which missiles are the bad ones with the same names as the good ones! :P
Edit: Didn't work. Still 50+ random missile designs in my missile design page ;_;
