6.3 hasn't been buggy for me, except a few random freezes but that was because of my HDD, did a chkdisk and it solved the problem and hasn't occurred for me since, so far the gameplay bugs I have seen in 6.3 also exist in 6.2

I'd second 6.3 - I never saw much of an increase in bugs between the two, although you have to remember the game is very buggy and slow anyway.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

One 6.3 bug I've noted is that if I assign a Geology team to a random uninhabited rock, that rock will often have random stuff in its production queue. It's a minor bug, because there's no factories and so so nothing happens. But still oddball. My guess is that it's not initializing some variable properly.

Some database issues exist yes, I have CMCs set up on asteroids and then be building random stuff, sometimes missiles as well, I am tempted to plop some ordnance factories there and see what they make but it's an unhabitable asteroid so I would need orbital habitation which might be a bit of an expensive piece of work for what could be fairly average or sub-par missiles.

Also have random CMCs get Tracking Stations which can track for billions of kilometres....

Here you go.

For some reason, I am incredibly excited about Forced Labour Brigades. Don't ask me why. I'll probably never conquer a world and get a chance to use them, but I really like the idea/concept.

Steve says there's going be another bug fixing update tomorrow. And here I thought this game was on the verge of becoming abandonware :D

Loving the sound of these new NPR AI upgrades.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Alright, something is weird with my game. I can't assign Leaders/Officers/Administrators/What have you. The lower section of the screen that allows me to do that is literally not there.

Is your screen too small and it's getting cut off?

I assume you're talking about the rows of buttons at the bottom of the F4 (Commanders) window? Let's get the obvious out of the way: is it a resolution issue? IIRC you'll need to reactivate the Reduced Height Windows option after updating.

Aurora on small monitors:
1. Game Parameters -> Reduced Height Windows.
2. Lock taskbar to the right side of your desktop.
3. Run Resize Enable

Only if it's getting cut off when it's initialized. Dragging the screen up shows that there is nothing below the... Leader selection thing. The bottom buttons simply don't exist.

I'll take a look at that, but I never needed it for Aurora before. Which is why I'm so surprised that it's suddenly doing it now.

EDIT: I am a derp. Forgot about the reduced size windows. Sorry about that, everyone. It's fine now.

EDIT2: Additional Derp: My administrator for Earth is listed as female. Yet the events talk about him increasing his factory production modifier...
