The game has had a long gap in updates, yes.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Steve only develops Aurora as a hobby, so there's really no guarantee that he'll ever update it again.

Anyone have any idea how to mass configure fighter fire control settings, or if there is even a way to do so?

Should be the same as anything else. Set up one in your battle control window, then copy the settings across all ships of the same class.

F8 IIRC, or the button that looks like a crosshair on the top of the system view window.

It'll give you the sheet for the current empire and system, with a full OOB on the left. Pick the ship you want, set whatever you want to set, then on the right click the "Copy Race" button under "Copy Assign" heading. You use this window to designate targets, set up fire control systems, assign weapons to FCs and missiles to launchers, and assign ECCM to FCs. It also shows you the cooldowns on your weapons.

I also previously had been controlling ships individually, or sometimes with hamfisted task groups.

So I fired some missiles at some Swarm ships.  The turn length keeps getting shortened to 5 seconds because "increment length adjusted due to potential missile interception."  Problem is, my missiles are probably two hours away, and this is getting very tedious.  Any ideas on how to speed this up?

Edit: There's also an error message that pops up every turn with "Error In CheckMissileInterception" due to some overflow.  Error 6.

Never mind.  I'm hitting 30 Days thinking that there will be an interrupt when the missiles get kind of close, but it doesn't work like that.  Hitting in hour increments works much better.

So am I wrong or has the game not been updated since like November of last year? I have not been keeping up with this game since...about that long ago...

Funny you should say that....

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Do note, it is a beta, and Steve recommends not starting any major campaigns.
