Good thing my planned designs only at 1m only. I've heard about overflows caused by creating really big ships before though I wasn't sure at first on what ship size that would start occurring till Dice mentioned it. Also, my 1m ship is plainly a warship though the mothership design sounds interesting to build, if it weren't for Aurora's limitations.

Currently, mineral problems and the research on the Jump Drive being 2 years away from completion is stopping me from building it.

I'd design it as a Galaxy-Class vessel, aka the ship from Star Trek: The Next Generation (although with better armor, weapons, and reliability).  Essentially a warship/carrier that can also ferry colonists and installations, conduct survey missions, and generally act autonomously (so it needs recreation facilities and a fuel harvester, so it doesn't need to go home).

Did you include a main deflector? Without that magical technology, the Enterprise (any of them) wouldn't have made it through three episodes.

For the first time, I found some alien ruins in a planet. Xenologists discovered that the aliens were originally called United States of Remus. They also left 150 installations though I don't know how to reactivate them. Help?

Transport engineer battalions to the planet.  Over time they explore installations.  Assign them officers with xenology bonuses, and I *think* it helps if the planet leader has those too (although that's kinda minor compared to shipping in more engineers).   Send some troops too, no reason.  *whistles innocently*

I already did along with a single marine company which I didn't know were loaded up in the Transport.  :P

Another weird thing, I created a colony in a uninhabitable planet to act as a automated mining colony and for some inexplicable reason, there are ques in its industrial construction and ordinance list. Discovered it since I noticed that a lot of minerals were marked red while I was checking for duranium and gallicite.

Cleared them since then. I thought I was the one who did it by accident but the things in the list were really weird. As I remember, I think it was a single engine called an Orion Drive (?), a Military Academy, a Ground Force Training Facility, 2 Deep Space Tracking Station, a Spruance PDC which I have no design off, and some infrastructure. The Ordinance list were also of unknown missiles though I don't remember their names anymore. The thing that baffled me though was that they all had weird assignments in industrial capacity (0.89% is not something you want to use to build anything for that matter except maybe maintenance supplies).

That IS odd. Maybe an NPR had a colony there at one point and the database still had their industry assignments?

Well I had this massive 150 million ton habitat
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Never had problems with overflow bugs or anything, but damn it chews fuel like a mofo. It Chews up twice my yearly fuel production just travelling 31 million kilometers(max range, listed as 0.0 billion km.)

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

I seem to vaguely remember that the errors were caused by maintenance or something related about it. Still, that is one heck of a missive habitat. I did also design something similar but a bit larger with 50m habitation capacity. Did it mostly for fun and never really built one due to mineral constraints.

Edit: Comparing my 1m ship design, I noticed that my warship/exploration ship is somehow 50% more expensive despite being 950k tons only (jump drive still being researched). Then again, its a warship and I'm using a lot of high-tech components such as solid anti-matter drives, which by itself constitutes around 40% of the total cost of my ship.

I've recently gotten into this game and would like to know some of the efficient ways to transfer installations to other planets for colonies as my way is taking a long time and the civilian shipping lines are doing nothing even when I have things set up for them.

I downloaded this yesterday using the all-in-one mobile pack, and found out just how many OCX files I'm missing. This is going to take a while...

Is there a dependancy pack I have missed?

You didn't make the installer overwrite any files right?

You're kinda fucked if you did I think.

What's this "Installer" you speak of? My files came in a .zip

And yeah, I'm aware of the proper installer that tends to replace files in system/system32. I know better than that.
