Biology is important now that the terraforming techs have been moved into its sphere of topics.

Did they change how labs work?  Because 600 labs employ 600m people and ~30 concurrent research projects in my version.  That's a... bit excessive.

Eh. By the time you get to that many labs, most of your researchers are going to be running at 50-60 labs, and you're going to be dealing with very high RP costs, so running 12-16 projects concurrently tends to be much better for making continual progress. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the "reward" of another research project completing. It's better than gambling because you know when and how much it'll pay out.

And devoting 600m of your workforce to research isn't as big a deal as you might think when you're at the point where your homeworld population is nearing 10 billion combined with having no mines and deactivated fuel refineries. Often with deactivated construction factories as well, because when you're counting facilities in tens of thousands you stop needing constant production to keep up with demand.

By the 75 year point, it's fairly usual to have an Earthling population devoted to three things: Research, feeding the ceaseless-war-machine, and making more Earthlings.

That falls back to the war machine thing. Why are you still in the Sol System? Go forth and mine those aliens! er... alien planets...

The current ship desig design selection list is driving me nuts! If you like to give your ship designs names then you need to remember every single one you've got. There needs to be a way to order the designs, maybe put them into categories or folders.

I prefix the names with a type-ID so the ships of similar classes/sizes group together in the list - CLAA(M) for anti-missile missile of roughly "light cruiser" size, BCG for battlecruiser with primary gun armament, etc.  That keeps it at least slightly manageable for a while...

Meanwhile I'm over here pulling class and ship names from the wikipedia article on the Royal Navy.  :P

I apparently have an uninhabited 0 cost world in an average size system with millions of each mineral. The only downside is all but four of those minerals are below 0.3 accessability.

Drop a geosurvey team there. While they are unlikely to find any increased deposits, due to the changes to survey team mechanics, they do stand a reasonable chance of improving the accessability of at least some of the minerals.

And in either case, it's still a 0.00 cost world (which alone makes it a colonization target) with millions of tons of minerals. Even 0.3 accessibility can be workable with enough mines and good enough tech.

Did I say millions? I meant tens of millions. Also, will drop a geosurvey team next time I play.

I feel like I'm opening to many systems to quick. Nearly as fast as i can find JPs im hopping across them with my small fleet. I think I'm going to encounter a mass effect esque death by entering the wrong system.

Nah. In Aurora, the alien juggernaught comes to you. If you turned them on, that is.
