You can also check "automated fire", and the AI will handle everything, although it tends to just stick every gun on the biggest fire control. Not so great if you have lots of fire controls to engage multiple targets (or reserve some weapons for PD duty).

I've actually written 12k words or so on a crossover of that exact thing. Though I haven't worked on it for ages, and I don't want to deal with two campaigns at once.

wouldn't get anywhere. All the other races would have the advantages of opposable thumbs, and the ability to wield guns.

although, tank ponies would be interesting, to say the least...

SOMEONE! DRAW REGULAR HORSES WITH MASSES OF GUNS ATTACHED TO THEIR BACK! someone can later convert it to MLP if they wish.

Don't mind the Base designation, I just thought it was fitting since it's a PD barge, intended to be supplied by munition barges :D

The game's 100 star with no NPR and I'm about to tick Precursor on in a few years before researching jump point theory.

The plan with this is to designate most of them to a pair of directors for PD with 4 missiles per target and have the rest with smaller clusters to pick off anything that gets too close. I've not had a fight in Aurora yet, I'm hoping to get some hand-on experience without losing too many ships.

Yep, I'm running a modular fleet, everything get towed. Only the shipping lines get non-modular designs because they're not programmed to handle it.

If it's point defence, then it's good, but you might want to consider lowering the overall number of launchers or making the magazine bigger. Also, I suggest you make a few sensors, one for detecting larger craft(unless you want your PDCs to be specialized in one thing), another one for smaller craft, and so you get to the smallest missiles. Or, just make another, sensor-specialized base.
