Scientists are clearly mechanics.  Dwarves only need a single stone to communicate complex ideas instantly across vast distances.  Well, two stones I guess.  As a continuation of that, it stands to reason that a whole starship is merely three strategically arranged stones.

How does the crew stay alive in that case if they are exposed directly to vacuum?

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

In a dwarf theme as long as they are not completely submerged into water or lava they should be fine.

For titles, I'm thinking
Civilian Administrators = Mayors
Scientists = Moody/Legendary Dwarves
Ground Combat Ranks = Peasant, Wrestler, Hammerdwarf, Sheriff, Royal Guard
Navel Ranks = Recruit, Marksdwarf, Siege Operator, Captain of the Guard, Champion
We probably want one less ground combat rank and a few more naval ranks. The seven (or is it eight?) in default Aurora always kind of felt like too much for me, but we should at least have six.

Maybe something like this?
Ground Combat Ranks = Peasant, Wrestler, Hammerdwarf, Royal Guard
Navel Ranks = Recruit, Marksdwarf, Militia Captain, Militia Commander, Captain of the Guard, Champion

Pfffff, only one minute and I was proven correct.

I swear, I must be an oracle or something. This is the second time I predicted something roughly correctly. :P

I'm way more interested in a Bay12 theme than a dwarf fortress theme.

Gotta say, I really like the whole 'thread names = ship names' thing.
