Ugh, I remember the problems I used to have, the window cuts out without me being able to see everything, Are there any fixes to this ?
options, I think it is, has a setting called something like 'resize for small screens'

does what it says.

... this is going to sound stupid, where are the options?

Main window, under Game Parameters.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Right, this is having no effect. The window cuts out to the side, not the top or the bottom, making it impossible to see the far right hand side of the UI

That seems like an oddly sized display. You could try using resize enable to change the size of the windows, though I have no experience with this. You could also get a something like virtualbox to virtualize your desktop, though that's quite a bit of effort just to play this game. Lastly, this thread on the aurora forums might have additional tips.

EDIT: This thread as well.

Ach, Kind of a bummer, I don;t think I'm that desparate to play this game, I'll wait until a fix is had!

You'll probably be waiting forever then. Aurora II might have better support for smaller resolutions, but it probably won't exist for quite a while, if ever.

Technically, this is Aurora II. You'd be waiting for part III if you wanted support for smaller resolutions.

About that tractor train thing. I did manage to attach multiple tugs to the same super miner base using the ship screen under the miscellaneous tab. It tedious though.

Out of curiosity, what resolution are you trying to play it on?

Been messing around with this as a few days, and as a simulator I love it - as a game, not so much. A couple of little things are bugging me, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get in there, adjust those and do so without destroying the whole thing in the process.

A) How easy is it to mod particular values for particular items, like facility and ship component weights, material costs and so on? Are values clear-cut, or is there a shitton of formula dependency or whatever?

B) Does the database file use its own password or does it use the designer mode one? I managed to rip the designer password from the game executable, but MDBPlus is giving me a "not a valid password" warning and I don't know if it's the program or the password.

Different. When Steve changed the designer password, the database password still worked. Even before then, they were different.

You can edit the database quite easily, particularly when changing values for components... but note that you can't add things at all easily, and I can't think of any tools that will maintain database consistency in case some things DO rely on relations between tables.
