Actually I believe that the 5.50 does contain the 5.53 patch and has since the 23rd.  The patches threads on the forum say as much at least.

Okay, I've designed my ship. Now, how do I make it so that I can build it?

You have to have ship yard of the right tonnage to build the ship, then they need to prep themselves for the new design

Build it from a shipyard, then give it's Taskgroup an order.

Erm? Well I have a 'Shipyard TG' taskforce...

AH, found it! Taskgroups, then orders... But not sure what the 'System Location Display Options' do.

And... part of my taskgroup window is also cut off. Damnit, how am I supposed to play if I can't see some of the buttons? I'd really like to not have to fiddle with all kinds of random stuff just to see the window properly.

Edit: And I have no idea even HOW to fix the screen size... The resizing programs don't work...

How small is your screen? o.O My screen is the standard laptop size, i.e. small, and the bottom inch is broken, but the resize windows in-game option fixed the screen for me and I have no problem. Weird.

Well, you need to have 1024 vertical reolution (not counting taskbar) to play in normal aurora windows. 768 res for reduced size windows (game options). If you have lower than that, im surprised your antic is still working (joking). There is also GiMeSpace Desktop Extender for eveything else.

I have a max resolution of 1366x768 on my laptop. I chose the reduced window size, but some buttons were still cut off.

Anyways, here is a pic of a crash:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It happens when I click on Sol in the populated systems flowchart thing on the left side of the screen.

Edit: Anyways, deleted my current Aurora folder, and did the installation process again. Installed the setup, clicked yes to keep the files I had, then since I can't extract files in Winrar for some reason, I just opened the AuroraUpdate491 file and dragged all the stuff inside it to the Aurora folder, then did the same with the 5.50 patch file (which should contain the 5.53 patch, right?). Testing it out now.

Edit 2: STILL GETTING THE DAMN ERRORS.
And even with reduced height parameters some buttons are still cut off.
This is really starting to piss me off.

Well, you need to install MSSTDFMT.dll. A few pages back in this thread, someone posted a alarm-clock application that included the library.
