There is no need to order a fleet at the order side of the system for jp defense right? Precursors don't use JP generally, and versus a fleet with just mesons I probably just get myself killed if I station a fleet close to the enemy.

I had a precursor ship blow up my survey ship, blow up my first primitive warship I sent to investigate, and then jump into Sol and start attacking Earth. I was quite surprised, but apparently they will use jump points.

Luckily Earth had two missile PDCs that were able to blow it up once it exhausted it's missiles and started closing. After it blew up 10 freighters :(

Do not weep for them, they gave their lives for their family and their friends. It's better than the ship wrecking earth.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

That's because it has too low gravity for regular humans to ever habit, and is usually not worth it to genetically modify humans over.

Don't go for the moon, it's worth is low. Go for Mars. The only use for the moon I can think of if not for minerals if the moon was generated with any, is for beam bases. Nothing else is worth it when you've got the Earth like... a small distance away?
Yeah, but it's the moon. It's right there, I wanna friggin colonize it.  :)
Well, your choice if you want to waste your already spare minerals on a worthless endeavor. I'm not stopping you.
You're not a very fun person, are you...

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

Depends on my mood. Right now, I'm too tired and filled with hay fever to joke around.

It isn't worthless. Trading from earth to luna with two well developed populations is ridiculously profitable.

Point. Though it's still not worth it in the early game, really.

Ah, but it's also a colony preventing Earth from getting attacked. And money. Money is good.

Not really unless you put bases on it. Which will need engineer battalions since you need genetic modification -50% to get factories running.

And money. Money is good.
You don't get money if you don't have population. You need a genetic modification of -50% before you can settle, which is far from an early game tech as far as I can tell.

Better Luna idea:

Go into Spacemaster mode, dump oxygen and helium on Luna, then create a NPR on it.

Then you conquer Luna, and subjegate the Moonpeople.

(Or they nuke Earth until nothing is left.  Whatever.)

If you're using the SM, you could simply increase the tolerance of your race to includes Luna.

But that would be cheating!

[By which I mean, it would be easier than my option.]

You could just set the gravity tolerance a bit higher at the start of the game...

Also: is there a way to make my doods stop trying to communicate with precursors? They keep spamming me with messages of their failure.

Just wait a little. They'll eventually conclude it's impossible and stop.

You need to significantly change your gravity tolerance to be able to colonize the moon though, something like a lower limit of 0.1 g or maybe even less. I rarely go that low, though I usually drop it to 0.23 or something to be able to colonize Titan.

Is it really worth it to colonize a planet with a colcost of that high?
And is there really a point of colonizing a planet apart from being able to use mines instead of automines? It seems like a lot of work for very little return.
I'm right now trying to colonize a 0 colcost sustem 2 jumps away but that's just because I would be a shame to not use such a world :-X
