Regarding commercial troop transports, this is only possible if you do not include combat drop modules.

It think it is social commentary on the usual intentions of military service.

Does each weapon on a ship need its own sensor/fire control? Say I have 5 turrets on a ship, all identical. Do I need to include 5 sensor/fire control pairs or can I slave all 5 turrets to one? I realize they'll only be able to fire on one target that way, but its possible yes?

Yes, you can link an infinite number of weapons to a single Fire Control.

If your ship were a gun, the active sensors would be your eyes, and the fire control modules the gunsight/scope.

Each ship is a set of eyes if they all have sensors. If one of your ships splits in half, it was most likely hit by a missile. ;D

What I do then is open my eyes wider so I can see them both. If I close one of them I won't be able to see them both.
