And now I'm stuck in some barren system with no way to get my view back to Sol.
That's why you put jump engines on ships you expect to jump into systems without Jump Gates.
I had my other ship come in and build another gate,my view is just stuck their.
Oh, you can change by selecting the dropdown box that's located down from the Scroll Map and Zoom Map buttons.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Jump gates. How do I use them?

Do you mean how you use jump points in general or jump gates specifically?

Spoiler: Wall of text (click to show/hide)

That should cover nearly everything that matters, and it should be more or less correct.

Does a higher rate of fire in missile launchers mean it launches faster or slower?

The reload rating is the size of missile that can be reloaded in 30 seconds.

I think I'm getting that thing where NPRs are battling or something. I'm clicking 30 days and it's going, very slowly, in increments of 10 seconds instead. Any way around this?

E: It's stopped now.

Battles between NPRs usally don't take too long. Just hit the 'auto turn' button and let them duke it out.

Worst case I've ever had took about 5 or 10 (real life) minutes or so, which I just let run in the background while I did other stuff. It's annoying, but as far as I've seen, happens infrequently enough that it's not a big deal.

That's good then.

Another question, is there a design screen for missiles somewhere?(Not launchers, the missiles themselves.)

There's a Missiles button on the bottom section of the Research tab.

Most of my other commercial ships (colony ships, terraformers, jump gate constructors) are just built off the freighter hull. If you design them correctly (I'm not certain what exactly the conditions are,) you can use one commercial shipyard to build all of them without refitting.

I thought I'd clear up this point, since the mechanics for getting more than one ship being built in a shipyard are somewhat tricky. This is from the wiki
Quote
For a second class to qualify as eligible for construction, it must be possible to refit a ship of the primary class to that class for less than 20% of the primary ship class cost.

But as I said, there's some trickyness. The refit cost only considers the components being added to the new ship, so for example, if I want to refit a freighter with five cargo holds to a colony ship with ten cryogenic storages (since they weigh half as much), it's going to cost a lot, because cryogenic storages are very expensive. However, because cargo holds are so cheap, it will be very inexpensive to refit a colony ship to a freighter. The shipyard will only be able to build both classes if it is tooled to the colony ship as the primary class.

In theory, I suppose you could get other commercial designs built by that same shipyard as long as the most expensive design is the primary class, however, I haven't been able to ever get more than a colony ship and a freighter out of one yard.

I didn't even know it was possible to have aliens building fast ships for the sole purpose of suicide-ramming other ships. Wow.

Yeah, my GeoSurvey ship was out exploring some other star system when out of the blue a group of alien ships started "trying to ram" the GeoSurvey ship. One of them eventually hit before I could jump out of the system and both ships were destroyed.

What do you mean by mgb?
