Seems like Steve has come up with a nice new idea for diversifying your empire. Creation of New Species though Genetic Modification.

Freaking yes :D , no offense to Steve, but it took him long enough to come up with this. ...oh, wait, I guess that means my 70 year old game is not going to be compatible, damn.  :(

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

I wish he would fix more bugs and add less features honestly.

My current game is getting fucked by error spam.

I had a nice reply to greenbane but my post didnt make it..... wtf

...
It seems to be because someone posts before you?  ??? I nearly lost a post once to micro, but the backwards/forwards feature of firefox saved it.  :)

And I'm sorry about complaining about your ships, you'll learn the hard way from our favorite worst enemy, the precursors.  ;D

I have no issue fighting the precursors, my Hood's shoot down their Missiles and my missiles kill anything that closes with my ships. and if something can bat its way through my repeated missile strikes then my Hood's will take them out. I have played ...a few short games 4 fairly long games now all of which lasted over 70 years before error spam or slow turn speed made me quit. Not real worried about Precursors since fleets of ships stop them easily. as long as you are capable of stopping their missiles.

Also guys, In my signature you will see the New Aurora Succession im doing looking for a total of 10 players request your spot in the thread I linked to to get a spot.

The cost of your ships can be of concern though. High failure rates, massive quantity of missiles, high build costs. Where do you get all the resources?

Good to know, now, how about the swarm?  :(

wait, I thought your lasers were your main weapon.  ???

I'm not into succession, but I like reading them, at-least not the ones with walls of text, as they can take ages to read.  ::)

and if no-one else wants to play then don't stop, just keep playing and that will attract new other players.

Well they are my main .... short range weapon  ;)

Missiles in Aurora are your bread and butter of course.

We have 5 players for the Succession already so.... probably figure out the rules and begin it tonight or tommorow if we get a few more, I think greenbane or Greiger said they might be interested.

Sol system?? this fleet is from what became a single player Succession game  :o

Its not very expensive at all.

If you are interested my single player succession has the entire writeup on my fleet construction etc.

I have recently initiated a 10 year plan to broaden the fleets build capabilities to smaller ships  ;)

Missiles in Aurora are your bread and butter of course.

If you're boring, yes, but with strong enough point-defense and fairly fast ships, you could theoretically pierce through a cloud of incoming missiles and strike at the enemy's heart directly. Also, if your point-defense shield holds, your adversary will eventually run out of ordnance. In that case, if you have the speed advantage, the battle is yours.

And by the way, I never said anything about joining a succession game. :P

I guess I am boring for using the most effective weapon in the game then :D

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Checking your ships my man ,  :-*

Missile ship is really weird but you did say you were updating it ^_^ almost like me newer missiles on an older designed ship.

On your PD ship, you get a bonus to hit chance per 5 seconds that the missile is in range of your fire control.

So if you have a larger fire control area you can raise your To hit modifier up by quite a bit (this maximum is increased via research)

So I figured out I could defend the jump point with a single PDC (very convenient when they're right next to an asteroid) in time to realize I'm out of Neutronium... and moreover there's only about 2000 neutronium left in the entire Sol system. That sucks.

New game time. As Bay12 motto goes, losing is fun.

Aww you didn't lose, you gave up. Scrap other constructions for enough neutronium to scrape together a mining ship or move some mines and population and infrastructure to a planet in another system.
