I want to use my remaining PDC quick build points to build a PDC in another system, how do i do this? Or does the game only quick build on your home planet?
I've never actually used the quickbuild...

But... you know how you can select different colonies in the planet management screen with all the tabs?
Try selecting the target planet from there before quickbuilding.....  (not guaranteed to work...)

I'm gonna do the task group thing, seems like the best bet. Just hope assigning a PDC to a group orbiting a planet doesn't crash the game or something.

Also the build points are just like the research points, you should use them.

Both of them are just a suggestion, and are there to be used or ignored as you see fit. Personally I prefer a blank start and researching all of my tech myself.

Alright, I downloaded this game and took a look at it. Very complicated. It worked long enough for me to poke around a bit and then started throwing tons of errors. After reading some instructions I uninstalled and reinstalled and patched according to directions. Now it won't even start. Oh well, last thing I need right now is another game soaking up my time.

What do you mean doesn't even run? Is there an error? Does the screen flash black but nothing happen? Does nothing happen at all?

Also if you have vista, try running it as administrator.

Also, i hear people making financial planets, and military planets, but is there really any downside to just making all planets mining planets and stuffing everything into one planet per system?

Since there is no perfect play style for this, as it depends on what your facing, how you like to play. Yes, there are downsides.

when I try to run the program it goes into error message box spam mode before it does anything else. I have to use the task manager to kill it, because the errors repeat infinately. I am on a different computer right now, I can not remember what the exact error is.

Nadaka - do you have a stevefire.mdb file? If so, email it to steve, the maker of the game. He could give you an answer.

Well we can all testify that it does indeed run.

Expense and logistics come to mind, depending on how you go about doing it.

Yeh but it's not like there is a limit to how much you can build on a planet. If you build a financial center, why not put all of those financial centers on earth where there is more defense?

Maybe a limit to how much can be built and how big a population you can have should be implemented...because right now, it's possible to have 10 trillion people. And earth can't support that many.

inner core defense worlds having all your shipyard production, outer worlds having all your supply generation and such. If the AI attacks and takes out your outer worlds you can still rely on your inner core worlds.

I need to read some AAR's on the game to actually see how the AI eventually attacks if its really a threat though.

I can testify that it doesn't, at least not now. I don't see what good emailing the db file would do considering its a clean install that hasn't even run once. I'm on windows 7 so I'll try using admin permissions next time I try to run it.

Strange, I am on windows 7 and the game ran first try with no coaxing or patching. Have you tried a complete wipe and fresh install?
