I don't believe buoys expend fuel when stationary. That's how you make mines

I thought you made mines by not providing missiles with engines?

Just when you think you mapped the galactic map out perfectly, with systems heading off in the correct direction in relation to known system jump points.  It even has a nice fancy looking nebula stream dozens of LY long.  It throws you a curve ball.  Like a far 'north' system somehow ending up with a connection on the other side of the map that makes absolutely no sense connection-wise.  Yet the distances in light years do. It is mind boggling.

I looked through there forums. Apparently you build a buoy with Thermal and EM sensors, with a second stage that contains regular missiles. When the buoy detects an enemy ship, it launches the second stage missiles at them.

...You mean there's a tutorial that isn't on the wiki?

Pff.

Anyways- That info on the asteroid colony was muchly needed. I was wondering why the miners I had idling for a year hadn't harvested anything.  ::)

I wasn't talking about the asteroid mining, but i did forget to answer that  :-[  I was talking about the geo survey orders for searching the 5 nearest bodies.

? But aren't jump points like.....jump points? The map may be 2D but the universe is 3D or maybe even 4D, that system could be "above" the other.

Hell, I just asked Steve for designer mode and now I watch the fireworks.

Of course he requested that I don't give it out, so yer still still gunna have to get it from him. P.S. Be polite please!  Even if you don't agree with his methods, he makes this in his spare time and unlike Toady he has a job besides writing this!  Would you want extra stress?  I think not!

And just as a warning before anybody does anything silly, do not post the password here.  That would just either make him change the password (and probably never give it to any known bay 12 folks again). Or ask Toady to remove it, and then probably change the password anyway.  And we I don't want that.

Designer Mode is where you get to edit the game, see some of the active behind the scence stuff, and have more direct ability to fuck with the game.

It needs a password to unlock the database, as I understand. It will give a slew of new buttons and features that are hidden, from general game play as they dont really offer anything of use for general game play and more helpful to see that the game is working correct, from what I gather.
