For some reason, my starting power doesn't start with fuel or industry.

While I generally frown on SM cheating, I may have to instant one of each.
The starting installations are granted based on your population, so yeah you may start with none or very few when you go to extremely low population numbers. I don't consider it cheating to set up a scenario for yourself which won't result in immediate failure.

Yep, 1 million population will likely give you a grand total of nothing.

Yeah, I gave up on that venture.  Although you do start out with one research lab and one shipyard.  I imagine that one could build ships to do all manufacturing with sufficient tech.

Maybe I'll create a scenario pack for this game when I get some time. Do a few scenarios of varying difficulty with some stories set to them.

Start with no industry, just a ground troop training facility.  Build engineers.

Got into this, followed tutorial up to part 12(used the wiki for part 11), and the tutorial is outdated and really doesn't seem to teach most of what you need anyway. Basically, I'd kinda like a quick start guide like df has. As in, research such and such stuff, build this kind of ship. Also, is there a way to remove researched tech, like the first engines or bad in general designs and such when I find them useless. I kinda instant researched in some stuff before I was done with it.

I'm not too sure about removing researching tech, as far as I am aware you can't. As you play more you will make better designs and know what you need rather than guessing.
And yes, a quick start guide for this game would be great, sorta showing you how to go about things in the first few years of your game, dealing with things like ship design, terraforming, NPR problems and more. For now, just hang around the Aurora forums and this forum because there are plenty of people who are willing to help you with your issues. I'm still learning, but being on these forums is making things a lot easier for me

So, I just found out that deleting empty orb hab task groups results in the TG above it on the list to cease to exist, taking it's ships with it...

...

... that's a bit annoying.

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

How do I generate an NPC on a certain planet?

Activate SM mode -> Open System Information -> Select planet -> Create Empire -> Select NPR

Note that the planet has to contain certain ratios of oxygen or methane (but not both!), and can not have poisonous gases.

Also, is there a way to remove researched tech, like the first engines or bad in general designs and such when I find them useless. I kinda instant researched in some stuff before I was done with it.

No, but you can mark techs as obsolete, and tell the game to hide them from you on ship design.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Having the file isn't enough, you have to do things in command prompt to make it work. Check the first post.
