Brain fart time. Where is the colony cost of a planet displayed? I can't remember.

EDIT: just as I post this, I remember. Good going, brain.

Steve might have updated it to prevent it, but you definitely used to be able to break light speed with photonic drives, they got something like 3.01*10^8 m/s (3.0*10^8 m/s is lightspeed). I think it was a fighter...

I assume it was just a design, and not an actual ship...

Okay,  I've just run into a semi-serious problem: My only JP linked to a dead end system with no planets. I deleted it. Now every system I discover is named Proxima Centauri. What can I do to resolve this?

Yah, someone gave themselves full tech, and then had a play around. If you look on the pentarch forums, you should be able to find the thread there somewhere.

I did the same for my 16000 engine ship, and I've still got the save; I might check that to see what they haven't done.

On the other note, I resolved the issue with a degree of tinkering around.

Here we go;

It's possible to design a FTL ship using max tech (photonic drive + collapsium armor + "-100% efficiency +50% power" + fighter and/or GB engine).  There should probably be an upper limit on ship speed since there already is one for missile speed.

I've set 90% light speed as the maximum in v5.1

That was me. And I'll try that, but I will still probably stick with my pen&paper version.

I just managed to get this to work. I'm definitely going to have to learn how to play this.

I have to say, I'm really impressed at how much the game cares about scale. The solar system is actually the right size! The moon is really, really close to earth!

Anyway, first I have to figure out how to create a basic game and then how I... well... do things.

Naxza: Some JP are dormant and can only be found from one side. Yes, that means that the NPR could find a JP to Sol any time.

Okay, the constant uprising message spam on Tau Ceti III finally prompted me to design a new model of the Tigris class destroyer and build a squadron... Now how do I upgrade the old Tigris I's?

On another note, the best lazy, cheesy way to deal with aliens is to make a class with nothing but engines, hundreds of box launchers and ammo, spawn a few hundred of those at your problem site, and solve your problem. Well, and sensors and fire control.
