Even without regular maintenance, you still need supply points for things like repairs so it is still useful I believe.

I have everything turned on, except for maintenance. I can't be assed to keep up with maintenance, though I always include engineering to keep maintenance down and still have the habit or ordering seasonal maint/fuel resupply runs, haha

Well then, yes, you're going to want to defend colonies *very* well.

There's a bit in one of Steve's AARs where he ends up in a fight with the -spoilers-. If you want to read that for a sort of first hand account, you can find it here starting with the March 5th, 2036 update for what amounts to a recon in force and then a major incursion starting at April 14th

I set up a colony ship taskforce to automatically pick up colonists from earth and drop them on my colonies via the primary/secondary orders thing.

So far it works perfect.... except every time the secondary order (drop colonists) is triggered it pauses the auto-turns to let me know, which is incredibly annoying...

I tried picking to ignore that in the event log but that does not stop it from pausing, it just removes it from the events shown to me.

Is there a way around the constant pausing or do I just have to set the orders up manually then set them to repeat 10000000 times?

Edit: while we're at it can I make it stop pausing every time some useless officer joins my team too?

You can set it to auto repeat. Letting it repeat 10000 times will cause bad stuff to happen (found that out myself...)
You will need to set the refueling/etc orders in the load and unload orders because the standard orders (the ones the tg will repeat) will all get removed if the tg uses the if>than-orders (forgot the name :P).

Complete newbie here: How is missile design handled? Because for the life of me I can't find how to design them, although I can see where they would be produced, as standard ICBMs are available by default. Got that one.

Edit: Another question: when designing colliers, are cargo holds or magazines used for missile transport?

Aurora on small monitors:
1. Game Parameters -> Reduced Height Windows.
2. Lock taskbar to the right side of your desktop.
3. Run Resize Enable

Colliers use magazines.

How many deep space tracking stations do you have on one planet? I seem to recall getting an error like that when I built a huge number.

Does anyone have experience with designer mode? After my last attempt, I'm still interested in doing an Aurora LP but am thinking about a more narrative one, but I'd like to be able to track NPRs and ensure a challenge for the main nation. Does Designer mode help with this?

Designer mode is suppose to allow you to mess with everything. Also, I've read that you can track npcs with it. Haven't tried myself since I don't have the password and too lazy to ask for it  :o

Yeah, you can see all the NPRs, and control them. really useful to set up the game. I can send you the password if you want.

Would also be nice since I would like to edit Titan's base temp to a reasonable number but apparently even editing the database outside of the game requires a password.

I also wonder if I could change the Jupiter ice moons to better reflect what they are: ICE MOONS AND NOT ROCK MOONS! Seriously, it's silly that they have no water level on them.

Since you guys ain't getting the designer mode from Steve himself...
I'll throw this disclaimer here:

There is and will be no official help/support for you if you break your game or run into a bug.
