Haven't played in about a year... did they ever fix that issue where when two AIs were fighting you could only advance time 5 seconds at a time until they were done? If so, I'd check it out again.

I saw something in the forum about fixing that in the recent times, at least partially,  but right now another bug is there that will knock you out of your 30 days periods (that sounds exceptionally bad, somehow), it's an overflow of something that happens when a ship gets too much damaged.

Yes and no. The bug is fixed and missile fights will now actually end and a little bit of number crunching is done on the battles, so now you have to get through 30 second increments but no bug will keep the increments going.

So yes it's fixed, but your still gonna have a bit of a wait.

I have no idea how I'm meant to start. The game seems to be too big for the window (some of the game start options are cut off at the edge of the screen) and when I do start I can't even tell how I am meant to do anything.

Help? :(

Go to Game Parameters then Reduced Height Windows.

Does that help with stuff being cut off? Or by edge do you mean the right and left of the screen?

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Read the tutorial.  This game's learning curve makes Dwarf Fortress look casual, so the resources on the wiki/forums are pretty much necessary if you wish to have any hope of figuring out what to do.

Right and left. Well. Far right, to be exact.

I can only find the second part of the tutorial and THAT'S after a bit of searching. I'm just a bit lost, really.

It's unplayable. A lot of options are cut off to the right hand side of the screen, even with the window resizing thing. It's a shame because this game looks awesome. :(

addendum: it happened to me, a npr attacked some random ship. there is now an option in the system screen called auto turn that allow turns to keep running ignoring those kind of stuff. it will run slower, but it will not stop until some important stuff happens or they finishes off hurling missiles one another.

Even with reduced height windows, this game still needs a screen width of 1280, and a height slightly less than 800 to run...Maybe a virtual machine would help if you happen to have an OS setup disc.

Actually some WinXP machines are also capable of extending its desktop beyond the edge of the screen with some settings, which is probably hardware dependent.

try altmove:
Code: [Select]
http://www.deskex.com/Altmove/index.asp
you launch it and then you should be able to drag windows around pressing alt and clicking with the mouse, exactly as it says on the tin.

not optimal, not nice, but at least you can move aurora windows back and forth moving button inside the desktop work area.

So, I downloaded the game and it installed correctly and all, and I'm try to play, but everytime I make a world thing I need a stupid password. Any way to disable this "feature"?

Huh? It shouldn't require any password. What kind of password exactly it's asking? Spacemaster? Designer mode?
