I didn't even know I should've not used my survey team on Earth. It makes sense. I assume I should wait until I have a higher level team built up and then bring them to Earth to try to get the amount/access higher? I'm not really sure how they work, it's not explained too well on the wiki.
Also, do I need to have a body set as a colony before I can just drop off a mine? Like, if I survey the moon and want to drop a mine there, will it work? Same for Mars?
Is there a more efficient way to get a new colony up and running with construction? I got my initial group of colonists to Mars and dropped a construction yard but I notice it'll take a huge amount of time to finish the next yard. Is it easier to send mines via transports or to drop more construction yards?
Also, anyone ever get some weird loop where you can add any branches to your default TF? I had some weird mixup a few games ago that basically meant I couldn't assign a branch because I blew up the TF's.... Okay, I just started from scratch since it was a newer world.
But now, even after I replaced the MDF file with the one from patch 540, I still can't add a branch to the Fleet Headquarters group.
"Please select a task force or branch on the org chart to which you wish to add a sub-branch". And I know how to at least highlight the damned TF on the list. Any ideas?

Edit: The above issue seems to have cleared up after opening another save that came with the MDB and starting over.
On another note, how does hyperspace work, exactly? Do you need to have jump points setup? What is the difference between a standard engine with a hyperspace engine in it and a jump engine?
