Your name is also shadow? huh, never knew that.
I'm not trying to insult your play style but there are some problems.
1: you should add a disclaimer, as it can be confusing for some players.
2: you have yet to make one battleship or battlecruiser.
3: your frigates are really large, add a smaller ship, like a Corvette, as it might be useful.
4: you lack any ECM on your ships, compact ECM is really small and it makes it harder for your ships to get hit by your opponents (less percent to-hit, I think).
5: you also lack any ECCM on your ships, this is even more important, as you do want to make the most out of your ships don't you?
6: your >Destroyer< is 100% PD, why?
7: having a fleshy fuel tanker to refuel your ships is not going to turn out very good, when you are attacked by a missile loving NPR.
8: you have full sensors on every ship, like you think you are going to split your ships tens of millions of miles away from each-other.
9: on that note all of your sensors are short ranged, jeez man, have some res 20, 50, and 85 sensors!
just some tips, not trying to make you look like an idiot, in-fact you are far from one, as everyone has their flaws.
Yes. Greenbane's more dwarvenly, and dwarvenliness is required here.
1. I'm following Erik's footsteps, and he didn't see the need for a disclaimer. Nor do I. The root page is pretty clear on its purpose.
2. I do. I haven't considered BCs and BBs necessary yet, and I haven't expanded my shipyards to build ships of that size. I will, though, eventually. I'm guessing BCs will weigh between 16,000 and 18,000 tons, and BBs between 20,000 and 25,000.
3. Just like I haven't seen a necessity for bigger warships, I haven't for smaller ones either. My frigates are about as big as modern, sea-going ones are.
4. It hasn't been necessary to date, as the Kalugans were never in a position to fire on my ships. I am starting to outfit newer designs (like the Mirai-II) with ECM packages, though.
5. ECCM only counters enemy ECM (doesn't improve accuracy on its own), and I haven't found hostiles with ECM on their vessels. Maybe Precursors make use of electronic warfare, so I'll get cracking on ECCM research.
6. As an Escort Destroyer, that's its job. Yes, backbone of the Navy's fleet missile defense. Backbone as in really, really,
really important part. Crucial!
7. I designed the Tigris class mainly as a fuel harvester, not a combat-capable ship. If it was ever caught alone, no amount of armour, shields or ECM would save it.
8. They're small sensor packages, actually. The whole AEGIS-III set weighs a total of 300 tons. They're mostly meant as backups in case the battle group's SWACS vessel blows up. If that happens, the warships keep enough detection capabilities to make full use of their weapons.
9. Why? The Copernicus' sensors has ranges between 300 and 550 million kilometres. Why would I need to 'see' farther? NPRs would be lured to the massive EM signature, and I'd be able to see them coming well in advance. And in my systems, planetary sensors are better and much cheaper in comparison.
PS: Journier, don't be mean.
