Anyone ever get Aurora working with a modern computer, Windows 11, and no degree in Computer Science?

I had no issue running the C# version on Windows 10. Are you trying to run the VB version? I imagine that one's a nightmare to get to work on anything these days.

The only strict requirement that exists still to this day is a sufficient computer screen resolution, and using decimal separators. Otherwise it should just work.

(toad-edit: remove some bits here and a post following)

The problem is that Windows 11 removed the ability to move the taskbar, so it's permanently stuck at the bottom of the screen. The very area I desperately need to view the entire screen in Aurora.

@LuuBluum: Sorry for snapping at you. Dealing with some personal stuff, a family member has COVID so I'm stuck in quarantine, yet still have to go to work tomorrow. I still should not have taken it out on you. My apologies for my lapse in judgment.

All good. I should've asked for clarity rather than just assume you were asking generally about whether it runs on 11; apologies for that.

Anyone know of any complete, or failing that long but still ongoing, non-video AARs from the C# version of Aurora?

I don't think I'll ever be able to properly get into this game despite my best efforts, but it's interesting enough I'd like to read up on it.

I checked Steve's posts, just in case he'd posted a full ARR, but (from what I could find) it seemed pretty spotty - mostly just initial reports before he lost interest/updated the code. I suppose that I could possibly provide such a service; although it would be directly conflicting with my innate laziness and the fact that my day job doesn't usually give me the time to type up what's going on in my empire.

Yeah, that's part of why I want to go for one that's already over or long. Had a few too many succession game writeups, AARs etc. just finish after a short time.

Some of them were even my own.

There is probably something in the fiction section on the Aurora forums.

work on steam deck?
100% does not. It doesn't even work on monitors with too small of a resolution.

I watch youtube guide/walktrhough/playthrough by quill18 and whoever else I can find
More confused
open the game
a little less confused
where do I build ships though none show up in shipyard
guess I design each ship
now I'm confused again on how to build ship
open youtube
less confused again, just a little
make ship
MY FIRST SHIP
wait I need to do a new game to customize a game instead of use whatever default is
atleast I learned a tiny bit

thats where I'm at lol
