i just remembered, when i tried to colonize a planet, none of my population could build anything because everything went into agriculture and services. What's the minimum population needed for some manufacturing abilities?

Its in ratio to the colony cost.

ffff great, now im stuck doing 5 second or 30 second turns because i have a short range ship in range of enemy missiles but he is shooting down the missiles, but i cant use auto finish turns setting to get out of this.....

arghhhhh

might just delete the stupid ship in SM mode , some aspects of this game make me rage.

Is there a changelog somewhere?

(I thought the sun heating/cooling disasters were already available?)

Yeah, the disasters were already there in 4.91.

Here's the thread for the patch:  http://aurora.pentarch.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2278
Can't find a changelog at this moment.

So far the most noticeable change is the big-ass campaign instead of the tutorial game.

Aand really, that's all I noticed. The database is like 2.5 times bigger now though, so there should be something else in there somewhere.

Just in time for me to get bored of my current game too ^^

I think I will use my newfound abilities to start with multiple colonies on multiple systems instead of 1 and a crummy little half assed colony by year 50.  I'll rig a few NPRs up the same way to compensate.

Here are some of the bigger changes in 5.0

Change to Civilian Detection for v5.0
New Naval Organization Structure
Automated Fire for Player Ships
Popup Fleet Menu
Jump engines

Of course there have been a bunch of smaller changes as well.

I think I might actually be able to play this game on my computer.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

I was looking through the campaign, and it looks like it was left half done. For example, this fighter without a fuel tank

Mamba class Strikefighter    215 tons     8 Crew     31.1 BP      TCS 4.3  TH 48  EM 0
11162 km/s     Armour 1-3     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/1/0/0     Damage Control Rating 0     PPV 2.4
Annual Failure Rate: 43%    IFR: 0.6%    Maint Capacity 0 MSP    Max Repair 10 MSP    Est Time: 0 Years
Magazine 16

Rolls Royce F48 Supercharged MPD (1)    Power 48    Fuel Use 6000%    Signature 48    Armour 0    Exp 25%

Mk4 Box Launcher (4)    Missile Size 4    Hangar Reload 30 minutes    MF Reload 5 hours
CF/APG-15 Fighter Fire Control (1)     Range 26.4m km    Resolution 100

This design is classed as a military vessel for maintenance purposes
This design is classed as a fighter for production and combat purposes

There is also a lack of materials and everything seems half completed. Several ships could do with an upgrade. I don't like the idea of cleaning up someone's mess as a campaign....

Of course i think Steve said he wasn't done with it.
