Threads like these defeat the whole purpose of mutes.

I think Armok mentioned once that he has nobody to socialize with except for this forum and his mother. Apparently he is pretty dependent upon us.

It is a pretty fucked up situation. Banning Armok would probably send him into depression—if he is not already depressed. Letting him have free reign also would not be ideal, as some of his actions have shown.

I do not know how I should feel about this situation.

This forum seems to attract its share of troubled characters—Armok, Janet—which are pretty vocal, compared to other forums.

I like the guy, I really do, but he can't possibly live the rest of his life the way he does right now. I'm not sure what is stopping him from going outside and socialising, but the sooner he gets over it the better his life would become.

I think he lives in Sweden, where it's polar night right now.

That doesn't explain why he never socializes ever, though.

Yeah, Armok has some serious problems. He thinks we're his family or something, despite the fact that most of us would probably only feel sad for a minute if he killed himself and the rest wouldn't care at all.

Time to get off the internet gentlemen...

In terms of general advice, if you're ever so dependent on something non-essential that you're going to kill yourself if you don't have it, it's time to take a step back and reevaluate your priorities. That's an addiction, and those are almost always unhealthy.

There's plenty of other things you can be doing with your life that is better, or at least develop a healthier addiction like exercise, eating healthy, and staying fit rather than forum posting and video games. Try for balance in life.

Going to live forever or die trying?  ;D

But yeah, to truly live you have to go out into the real world and experience things the internet will never be able to give you. For some reason this isn't clear to people.

Please note that some people cannot function in "real life". Armok might be one of these people—I think he sounds like he is one of them. In this case, he would not be able to just "step back" and "reevaluate his priorities". Someone will have to help him and we cannot do that.

Please also note that some people have different values for "truly live". Try not to impose your values and morals on other people.

I'm not imposing my own values on him, no one's forcing him to do anything.

It doesn't sound like he's really living well at all and ought to seek help...away from the internet.

Seems like he already realizes he has a problem, so at least he has that going for him and can improve.
