An adventurer has wandered near your fortress!

Imagine the fear and worry you'd experience managing your little fort when some strange adventurer with mismatched shoes and a superior two-handed sword just shows up.  He'd wander around, kill some local wildlife and maybe murder your entire community while they slept.  Even better, because he's an Adventurer he's not listed as an enemy, so you have to wait to find out if he's a good guy or a murderous psychopath (also known as "a typical DF adventurer").  He may buy some things from your shops, kill some goblins giving you trouble, strangle a sleeping couple...  The possibilities are endless!

Even better, he could keep asking your king (or baron or mayor) for quests, and you could send him out to get giant bones or something.

Adventurers like to set trees and shurbs on fire, don't forget that.

Oh yeah, imagine the activity tree:

-Pyromania
-Homicidal Schizophrenia
-Random Wandering
-Quest Spamming
-Bothering your workers (Dwarf Cancels Pull lever: Annoyed by adventurer asking him about his family)
-Stealing
-Shopping
-More Random Wandering

And now, with the improved underground, the guy could end up using your fort as his base to explore the depths--accidentally unleashing a horde of legendary snailmen that follow him back.

i would love to have some way to kill my potash makers that i cant be blamed for. ;D
Great idea but would human adventurers come into a dwarf settlement or would it only be dwarf adventurers?

I think the very concept of an adventurer implies that it could be of any of the various races.  Heck, you could even have adventuring parties.  Order of the Stick, anyone?

You could have multiple raws for evil adventurers and good adventurers of various available races.  Too bad there isn't a simple random element in the raws for various attributes so that you wouldn't have to make multiple raws.

good one , but also remember that adventurers like to drop random stuff all over the place(rotting bodies right in the middle of your meeting hall , great)

remember that they might stay (and make 100s of rings and junk out of thin air)
and they try to get champions and shoap makers a like to join them.

Perhaps they could even cause an uprising in bad forts:
"Urist McAdventurer has sparked a rebellion!"
"Urist McGuard has died."
"Urist McNoble has died."
"A group of dwarves have left your fort."

I swear, if an adventurer appears on my map, wielding nothing except 3 pages of vomit, I'm going to preemtively abandon, and save myself the trauma.

you can get adventurers that can punch  so hard there fists go clean throu harts and lungs,or mangle brain's in one blow.

Yeah, the players might be sociopathic but regular adventurers probably shouldn't try to take on a city by themselves.  ::)  Stealing when no one is looking is more likely

This would be horrible. An adventure appears, then he leaves and you notice about half your military is missing. :(
