Allow naming of levers

It should be possible to name levers.  This would let you keep track of them without remembering which lever does what.

Been suggested many times, hence why it's a good idea.

This is also repeating things hundreds of times, but for completeness: there are a few ways of finding out what a lever does-

If you look at its contents with [t], then you will see how many things i is linked to.

You cant link a lever to the same object twice, so if you do the link command again, and if the object you think it should link to isnt in the list of targets, then you are right. (hint, when theres large numbers of objects, work out where in the list your target object is by testing from an unlinked lever)

Not as good as labels, but beats trial and fatal error 8-)

Good idea, although I might like having signs nearby instead of named levers better.

How to make a sign:
Name a dwarf with the text you want in the sign.
Put a coffin where you want the sign and assign it to that dwarf.
Kill the dwarf.
You're done!

That coffin idea is really slick.

But being able to label stuff somehow would be cool.  Especially if you could label them non-abstractedly.

I think just building a coffin and assigning it to a custom-named random cat would work better. Even when the cat's not dead, the coffin will list the name.

Edit: or is it impossible to assign coffins to pets? Then do the usual, and custom-name the cat after it's dead, so the coffin still points in the right direction.

The best use I can imagine for a labelled lever, is looking at a lever in adventure mode and seeing "DO NOT PULL. EVER!!!" written on it.  :)

Haha, rofl...  imagine the "coffin-signpost" with the same message...
