Except that Dak is a player as well. So if a host doesn't send in something as a prod to Dak but says in his game that he gave one, it will be fairly obvious to Dak that that person is scum. So no. Terrible idea.

Also. I have a problem with 24 hour prods. Not necessarily directed towards Attendance Board, but to hosts in general (particularly Dak), and it would affect the Board. The problem: if someone can only access the game once everyday, eventually they'll get to the point where it's out of their reach.

Say a person has activities on Monday that exclude only 6-7 PM. Activities on Tuesday exclude 6 to 7 as well. Activities on Wednesday exclude 5 to 6. But on Thursday it goes back to excluding 6 to 7. OH LOOK. PROD TIME, AS THEIR LAST POST WAS AT 5:30 WEDNESDAY, AND IT'S NOW 6 O'CLOCK. PRODPRODPROD.

So I request that hosts with 24 hour rules add a few hours to that prod-time-requirement. At least 25, preferably 27+. Okay? Okay.

I think one post per day is about right in terms of prods.  So prod them if it's clear they're skipping a day, I guess?

I would do it more on a "Post every 24 hour cycle and make it clear you're skipping the next cycle"

I believe CobaltKobold got me on that one.  I said at one point that everyone would need to post on Monday.  Right at 12 am I noticed she didn't post so I sent a prod.

The reply?  "It's still monday!  I just send my post in IN TIME"

Turns out I forgot about timezones.


I guess what I could do is have a 'pull back period'.  I'll still SEND a prod at the 24 hour mark, but if you post within 3 hours of that deadline then the prod is retracted.  Of course, if I don't prod until WAY after 24 hours then that's that.

I know right now, if you tell me that your schedualing issues sometimes cause odd things like that then I'll also pull back the prod.

Sounds like way too much work to have specific rules try to apply to all games. I'll just stick to prodding people who are obviously slowing the game down without warning me ahead of time.

It's *general* inactivity as a whole that's the problem, and I treat specific instances differently. Simply not posting in a 24 hour period doesn't mean the game is getting slowed down by it. Nor does merely 'posting' do anything to move a game along.

Well, I think what I'm REALLY after is a Minimum rather than a Standard.  I tend to like 24 hour limits, though I will make more allowances.  If another host wants to use different numbers then that's their aim.  If a host wants to not prod except in rare situations then that's fine.  In the end, it's based on the host.

The trick is the minimum before a prod can be official.  I had thought 24 hours.  Now it's looking like perhaps 27 or 36 (thus I can throw a 'prod' at 24 hours but can't keep it on record unless it's later on without a post)
