What's your position on shirts we make ourselves for our own use?

I have absolutely no problem with that, for yourself or your friends or whatever.  But if the operation is at a scale where a person has started to make money principally because of an intellectual property that I've worked on for years, then the issues from my last post come up.

A lesser worry would be the actual content of the merchandise in question and whether or not I'd want to be associated with it, but that would take something remarkably foul I think, given some of the games I'm already distributing.

Then I guess DF T-shirts will have to wait until Toady dies and random programming fans get the source code and start cannibalizing his game with ideas contradictory to his.

wouldn't it be possible to make a run of a shirt for the forum (say, 50), in an entirely public way (no hidden prices, completely transparent deal), with a percentage of the money going to be toady one the great donation ?

there are many online site that can make "do your own" T shirts, and probably some who propose batch price, and even some which can ship worldwide (for a fee, most probably).

As long as it is a one shot initiative, i can't see how it could hurt.

I'd like to have my DF t shirt and my DF mug. if i do them, i'll try to send Toady some example of such fine craftdwarfship.
