I get this error when opening:
Attempting to open filename: sitemaps.txt Failed to load sitemaps.txt! Reverting to old map mode.
It still works, I think, but it's strange.

Then it opens to the score page, and when I try to press enter to start the game, it says:
File: E:\Program Files\Visual Studio 8\VC\include\vector
Line: 756

Expression: Vector subscript out of range

First Error is benign, it only occurs if you don't have sitemaps.txt, and the game will still work properly.

I think the Second Error occurs because it found save files and it doesn't understand them. Move those save files away, since this is a new game, and then try again.

I'm using a clean save fresh downloaded from the page and it still gives me the map thing, but it lets me play. Still, it completely breaks my strategy because I can't rob apartments or anything - there aren't even any locks on the doors!

I had the same problem.

The situation isn't that you don't have the sitemaps.txt file, but that you have it in the wrong place for this mod.  You need to look into the "art" folder, copy the sitemaps.txt file, then paste it in the main folder, next to the new .exe file.

For some reason, this mod looks to the main folder, whereas the current LCS looks to the art folder.  I suspect the reason is that this mod is almost totally based on an older version of LCS, and at that time the game probably looked at the main folder for the sitemaps file.

Now join me in fighting the dual-Red menace, Conservatives and Stalinists!

Yes -- it was moved into the art directory in the last round of releases in order to accommodate Linux, since prior to that point Linux users had severe problems getting sitemaps.txt to work properly. It's not a graceful way to deal with the issue, but it worked, and I don't have the cross-platform experience to get a better solution working.

I didn't catch the alterate way of activating the Stalinists, so I gave up.  Busy now, but when I get some free time, I'll try publishing special editions in an attempt to offend the Stalinists.  Let's see how they like Hacker Squad!

I can confirm that the Stalinist Crime Squad definitely affects the issues.  My squad was imprisoned, and four years later when someone was released everyone hates the Conservative Crime Squad...and loves communism.

This was a cool mod, I pm'd Servant Corps requesting a reupload.  We'll see what happens.  Anybody have cool memories from last decade (2009) they'd like to share about this mod?

does the Stalinist group have a win condition like the conservatives (signing the arch conservative doohicky) or is it just another way for politics to pull away from liberalism? either way it sounds great.
