Dullard,

I'd rather not get into an argument over who was worse. They all suck. Let's leave it there.

About comparisons to the US, I agree that we've got it way better than other nations around the world. But, look at it this way; NK is a destination, one you reach traveling down the path of fascism disguised as "hope and change" socialism. All three branches of the US government have already repeatedly overstepped their constitutional bounds. The time to call them out on it is not when the already control every aspect of your life, but it is NOW.

NK, Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, and pretty much any country under Islamic Sharia law should be warning signs that this stuff does happen. I don't want it to happen here.

/End rant.

@Atomic

Anybody doing that will cause far more harm than good. I feel the republic can still be saved without resorting to that. I really hope something like that doesn't happen. '_'

Hell if a militant group springs up in my area ill join in a heartbeat. I am just about sick of this country the way it has become. Ill gladly join and kill American soldiers.

I'm on my cell now, so somebody else, please report his frigging post.

I suspect this thread will be locked soon. Too bad.

Well, I wasn't arguing over 'who was worse' - I was merely commentating on who was more psychologically terrifying (to me), thus all the 'to me's and 'personally's strewn around in my posts. Arguing over which totalitarian dictator is 'worse' than another is obviously an exercise in futility, I'll agree to that, but I can still have an opinion as to which one scares me more.

In this day and age, I seriously doubt the chances of a violent revolution producing anything other than a country/countries run by gangsters. Militant groups like the ones you're mentioning should be opposed at all costs.

I agree with you that the state of our nation is not good. Political interests are separated by an order of magnitude from the everyday hopes and fears of the average citizen no matter what their political orientation happens to be, and the gap between upper and lower class is widening far too quickly for comfort. On top of that, the current government is making a lot of decisions I wouldn't consider wise, and I think their focus (both at home and abroad) is completely off-base and that they're ignoring the real problems (I'm a liberal, by the way, but I am rather disenfranchised with Mr. Obama and the Democratic party in general right now).

But I would stress that violent revolution is almost certainly not the answer to our problems. Violent revolution opens the floodgates to all sorts of potential futures that we might not even be able to imagine and probably wouldn't want to. If we have a revolution, it should be a peaceful one, a revolution of ideals. Remember that Ghandi was able to change the fate of his nation without ever inciting violence against any other human being.

Done.

ETA:

And I wouldn't suggest anyone else participate in this discussion further. Toady will almost certainly not appreciate this kind of discussion going on here.

The democratic-republican mono party have not yet completely destroyed America and the constitution yet. It is not yet time for a revolution, though civil disobedience could be in order. Its a shame more people are not willing to protest. What we really need is to change our electoral process to allow third parties a chance to compete. Our current system inevitably leads to a two party system and in America's case both parties are false fronts for a single party that has decayed and warped over the years bent on selling America to corporations and in the process destroying it.

@Lord Dullard: You started this thread, you have the power to lock it. That's my suggestion, because well, we don't want any more astronomically idiotic posts attracting the attention of the FBI. I suspect it will get locked anyhow and certain parties warned or banned.

Ah, awesome - I never noticed this could be done before (as I've never had reason to do it).

I'm going to go ahead and do that now - the last thing Toady needs is for trouble to come his way for something he had nothing to do with.

Locked!
