Horrifying North Korea Documentary
« on: January 06, 2010, 11:37:25 pm »

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ6E3cShcVU

I didn't realize how bad it was in North Korea until I watched that - literally, this stuff is comparable to if not worse than Nazism or Stalinism. But the really scary part isn't the starvation - it's the amount of brainwashing and forced obedience that goes on.

The amazing part is how little of this the average person knows about. Particularly bizarre is the fact (mentioned in the documentary) that South Koreans are basically unaware about what's going on as well.

Anyway, I posted this because I found it interesting and informational, although somewhat shocking. I wouldn't really advise watching it if you don't want to be slightly disturbed.

I'm about halfway through... pretty sad. Amazing how the few can so thoroughly control the many. I'm sure lots of governments are like that just not in so obvious a way.

I agree, just that some are more screwed up on how to treat the country's problems than others.

Like America, and other nations and using celebrities and popular stations and performers as pawns for mass control over the nation.

I mean, award shows, and heck, even television these days are turning into total DERPfests, and the public continues to follow suit of a celebrity because they wore a designer gown, follow a made up religion based on a sci-fi/children's novel or some bullcrap like that. Ah, "entitlement", the facade of freedom propagated throughout the media. The loss of conscientiousness of yet another generation through total douchebaggery of it's stars, and the chessmasters that control them in the background. We're lemmings.

No offense to voters, but how else did Obama win office? I mean, really?

EDIT:
Thank goodness I'm a non-voter. I take no responsibility for what crap everyone else votes to hit the fan next.

I think you're missing the point.

Because the other choice was McCain. It does not matter how much you hate Obama, you have to be bona-fide pants-on-head retarded to think McCain in office was a good idea.

Wow, I guess after 50 years the entire population is conditioned to believe all that crap. That's the most horrifying thing I've ever seen and I've been on the internet for a while now.

EDIT: stopping political argument here.

Speaking of horrifying documentaries, here's a short little vignette I made of my experience at the Killing Fields and Toul Sleng prison in Cambodia.

Sad part is, not too many people know about the Khmer Rouge genocide, which the world stood back and watched as a direct result of our fuckup in Vietnam. Up to 3 million may have died, and when I was there I noticed an entire generation was missing in between seniors and children; that generation was simply wiped out. There were walls of bone and towers of human skulls- and when the rain came while we were IN the Killing Fields, there were bones being washed up and clothes of the deceased. There's no space nor time to properly bury them all. There's not much else I can say, other than I hate humanity sometimes, but I'm hopeful.

That is pretty horrifying in a completely different way.

Which is a greater atrocity? Killing a single generation of people and causing suffering for generations to come. OR Indoctrinating hundreds of thousands of people for generations all the while having their human rights suppressed and living in fear. One day their illusion will shatter and the entire culture of north korea will be broken.

At least the Koreans are still alive... mostly...

I was talking to a South Korean exchange student today after watching this, and we got to talking about the situation in S K. He was telling me a pretty gruesome tale he witnessed wherein some American and South Korean guards were cutting down some trees in the DMZ, and the North Koreans told them to stop. When they didn't, the North Koreans chucked bricks and shit and went apeshit crazy.
