TBS - Overmind - Turn 8 - Incoming doom
« on: January 05, 2010, 07:48:16 pm »

Hello, fellow copycats.
Although the idea is old, the current uprisig of TBS's isn't.

The idea behind the game is that you are a collective intelligence behind a species. You cannot control anyone. You can only put ideas into their heads. Or proclaim objects as having a value of importance. While this game's options are easy to understand, the interaction between certain options isn't that obvious.

The Rules:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I accept:
4 players
you have to choose a starting area, but keep in mind there are no two forests and no two mountains.
If more than one player chooses the same area, you will land on the same map.

Other people are always welcome to post ideas and critique about the game.

Interesting, I'm not sure what TBS stands for, but I'd like to take a shot at this.

I think I'll vote seaside as starting area. Preference on something amphibious.

I'll give this a shot. I'll take tundra. Preference for big, tough humanoids.

K, two more players and we can start.
Also, I think that "s" in TBS stands for strategy.
I've figured it out!
It's turn-based strategy.

Trees in the forest.
Or giant cephalopods in the deep ocean.
Or insects under the ground.
Or carp in the river...

I'll join up in the mountains with our short, alcohol-loving freinds.  Should be just like DF.

Sure, but there ARE trees in the forest as of now. I've posted a picture.
And where do you start?

Maps, when I get back from school

I wanted to be the trees(well, some of them), they would start in the forest. They would probably move around a bit when nobody was looking...

If the tree people don't sound like a good idea then Deep ocean please

Well, okay you can be trees, but it doesn't have a big impact on gameplay.
Your people will do pretty much do everything the same way as others.
Only they will be more flammable....

Maps in a short while, so if you'd rather change to seaside because treefolk aren't that different you still have your chance.

Okay. Maps are done.

Treefolk of the forest:

Mermen of the seaside:

Dwarves of the mountain:

Yeti of the tundra:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You can send in your actions now.
We'll see how this works out.

Sorry if I made any map mistakes that would be really annoying.

Oh, and there are only a couple of items on start.
Rock, branch, and plant.
Other items are handled individually and not as abundant

I designate the southern exit as important and dangerous.
I designate the plants as important and beneficial.
I designate the water to the east as important, beneficial, and dangerous.
I put "sentry" into two dwarves.
I put "gather" into the rest.

Ok lets see if I can't screw this up.

Ocean is marked as benificial, important, dangerous.
sand will be marked as important
rock or whatever that is to the north I will mark as unimportant for now.
Into the head of 2 merfolk, I put 'breed' ;)
2 more get 'fish'
2 get 'explore'
and finally 2 more get 'green' ;)
Leaving the last three with free will.

and we shall go with that to get things started.
