I'll vote in favor of [Proposal 0001] if the 5 dogs are changed to 3 dogs and 2 war dogs (who are chained in the entrance, 1 tile behind a door).  The extra cost is pretty negligible when we aren't bringing an anvil, and double damage can make all the difference against an early ambush.

I vote for proposal one.

Wit, does my vote count since I'm not one of the starting seven?
I also agree with posting the local map.

I think only the founders count this early. You get to vote when your dwarf arrives.

Also, I vote for Proposal 0001, but I agree that it should be 3 dogs and 2 war dogs. At the very least, they'll make sure no thieves get in and steal our stuff.

I also vote we bring wood instead of an axe, OR at least regulate our cutting. I don't want to piss off the elves before we get some nice beasties. A breeding pair of wolves or bears could be useful for defense, or to bolster our meat industry by butchering offspring.

Accept Proposal 0001 with 2 war dogs.

Ditto, prop 1, with the two wardog amendment. I believe that clinches it.

Proposal 1.
Anyway, who claimed the starting seven? I don't think we worked that out. Me, and who else? never mind, I looked back.
Also, keep the axe in. We need protection early on.

Alright, here's the map so the mayor can get what he wants as per proposal 0001. Just do a search:
x-10
y-10
Drainage-High
Flux-Yes
Underground River-Yes
Magma Pipe-Yes
Chasm-Yes
Other-Yes
The rest- N/A
It ends up with and above ground brook also.

Oh and I vote yes on proposal 0001

X-10, y-10? Are you crazy? That's horrible lag right there.

I can play up to 100 dwarfs and a huge fort on a 10 x 10 about 20 or so fps, but I would be one of the few mayors who could.

We need one 7 x 7 and smaller so that more mayors can play without failing.

Ok, the players are these. Please do not vote until you're in the fortress (until an immigration brings your dwarf in) to avoid confusion.

As stated before, if a dwarf dies, the player has the option of saying he wants to enter first in the next wave. For example, if 100killer9 was to die, he could say "I'd like to immigrate on 8th position".

However, while he's not come back, he can't vote. Only alive dwarves in the game can vote.

Nine isn't really a lot of players for the queue, we'd need at least 5 more or so to be sure to fill in an improbable large first immigration.

1. Thanshin - mechanic5, appraiser2, record keeper1, negotiator1, judge of intent1
2. Curris - fisher3/engraver3/swimmer2/architect1/comedian1
3. Arrkhal - grower4/brewer3/cook3
4. Quinntan - miner5/mason5
5. 100killer9 - woodcutter5/axedwarf5
6. Rickvoid - carpenter5/bone carver5 and unskilled miner
7. Spartan117 - miner4/mason4/stonecrafter2

8. SoulSpeared

There's quite a big difference between 8x8 and 10x10. I think 8x8 is safe for almost anyone to play.

[Proposal 0002]

0002.a - Unconscious dwarves can vote. Not because it makes much sense but because not being dead stops them from reentering in a migration wave.

0002.b - Dead dwarves can choose to instantly respawn as a currently unclaimed (not taken by a player) dwarf instead of waiting for the next wave.

0002.c - Players get to choose dwarf from a migration wave in list order. So, if a wave comes first with two cheesemakers and an armorsmith, SoulSpeared can get the armosmith and tyl110 and addictgamer can start looking for milk.

0002.d - Entering the army is voluntary. Any dwarf can simply state "I want to become a recruit". (I was thinking of the cheesemaker situation and the will to die for the cause).

Proposal 0001 passes replacing 2 dogs for war dogs.

Yeah I realize that, 36 region tiles in fact. Just wasn't sure if it was good enough.
Here's it's save- http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1781

Search for:
X:8
Y:8
Drainage:High
Flux:Yes
Underground River:Yes
Magma Pipe:Yes
Chasm:Yes
Other Features:Yes

You'll get a partial candidate that should have failed due to the high drainage. This is the correct map, it has sand.

Also, I vote yes to proposal 0002
